I know what you mean of course, but ethnicity based representation is a comment from the 80's. He was born and raised in Japan , its a bit different to living your whole life in China and then changing your political allegiance later to a country where you can't even speak the language as some ex PRC players do. I mean, if you are going down that ethnic route who would count as 'American', or 'Brazilian'? Pretty much no-one. Continental Europe has been such a melting pot as well that you get so many people with Polish roots in Germany, German roots in France, it's endless... Lastly, how far would you take it back, cos do it far enough and we're all from Africa...😊

China's dominance would be even bigger if some competitions wouldn't limit the number of participants from a country. For women, the situation is even worse: in Europe, only Romania and countries from the former U.S.S.R. can actually compete with China.

The ranking is biased, as I believe the Chinese Team 2 and Team 3 would have taken those places, and those who retired.

the ratings don't mean anything because they depend on how many tournaments you play rather than an Elo like rating. If they did Elo ratings, the players from other countries wouldn't have had a chance.

I don't like Djokovic. He has an uninspiring game. He is dogged and very fit and he is like Toyota, he does anything to make little incremental improvements to give him an edge. He will work on whatever he is weakest at. He has very strong will and self-belief shading into the pathological, but he is not fun to watch nor is he an interesting person. I rank him about 7th all time. He is the most SUCCESSFUL player but not the best. Most of his records due to longevity, lack of injury, persistence, and consistency, rather than greatness. Stats don't make greatness.

Djokovic who speaks 7+ language is not interesting person, but Nadal and Federer who doesnt know how to say two fully correct sentences are perceieved as a funny guys according to you?
@cicadraza3671
@cicadraza3671 2 ай бұрын
these sentences make you a retard. "He is the most SUCCESSFUL player but not the best. Most of his records due to longevity, lack of injury, persistence, and consistency, rather than greatness. Stats don't make greatness." Literally, all these things you have listed are the most important for someone to be greatest. If you re consistent, if you know how to avoid injuries, if you re persistent, if you are capable to play longer than others and to achieve more than others, you re the greatest.

Kudos to Wang Liqin who held the number 1 spot for 7 years! The tremendous rule changing to slow down the Chinese (and never during Waldner's period) during the early and mid 2000 created the fluctuation of Chinese players and even forced some of them into early retirement. Then came Zhang Jike, Ma Long , Xu Xin, and Fan Zhendong :-)
