You look like you definitely had a happy Christmas, Sean. I wish I'd been to as many gigs last year. I reckon I only went to a couple. Only one in the diary for this year so far, The Shovel Dance Collective in February. Hope you get your turntable back soon, so you can listen to your new records. Hed

Good topic Sean. Funnily enough Queen's Greatest Hits never really meant much to me though I loved the Superman II-inspired cover. I prefer to hear the songs on the albums, and a lot of the hits are a bit played out. The Miracle a turd? Harsh.

Nice reminiscences about your first exposure to Queen. You couldn't get away from their Greatest Hits II when it came out. It sold shedloads and seemed to be everywhere. Davros used to scare me. I've got Genesis of the daleks on vinyl where he completely loses the plot. I think retrospectively Tom Baker waa my fav and i only just about remember him, more recently the Eccleston series was really well written. Another highlight was the one with David Suchet he is such a good actor he waa brilliant in that one.

Hey, Sean! It's funny that your copy of My Aim Is True comes from Portugal or Spain, as my copy is Italian. Are there no UK pressings out there? I don't tend to look to replace copies of records I already own, but that Italian issue has the flimsiest of covers. Ive got quite a few records by the band Clover, who were Elvis' backing on My Aim Is True. They started out in the late 60s as a country rock band, but after releasing two albums with little success they relocated to the UK. Here they developed an odd hybrid sound of country, soul and pop, before heading back to the States and becoming Huey Lewis & The News. I don't normally like to say a band of artist's first album is their best, but I'm very fond of My Aim Is True. Hed
