Is not working for me, I did all the same steeps. The circle in the middle just disappears when I do that. :( (using Sketchup 2024)

Hi. I am having an issue entering the exact dimensions of my basement in the bottom right corner once I create a rectangle. Any help you can provide? Thank you!
@kycarr21910 күн бұрын
Hey! I was having the same problem with the free version and it turned out to be an easy user error 🎉 when creating a line or rectangle, for example, click a starting point and type in your measurement - do not click in the box or anything, only press the number keys, and press enter. I haven’t found a way to change the dimensions after something has been created yet though. Hope this helps and best of luck.

To solve this issue, try closing SketchUp , then reopen the software. Next, go to 'File', select 'Import', and choose that file you lost file then import.

Excellent video! Question on the horizontal 2x4 attached to the bottom of the header. What is the reason for it? Everything Ive seen is just the header without the extra horizontal 2x4.

New to Sketchup and have looked a lots of videos. This is the best by far! The fact you are using Sketchup vs. Sketchup Pro is very helpful. Also, simple explanations with clear movement of cursor. Great job!

Another way in the free version is to click on a component, then right click on entity info and the first line in the menu tells you how many of them there are.

Great video. I was leaning how to use the Sketchup program but after I got the first wall done I noticed everything looks like an Xray. You can see dotted lines everywhere showing all the dimensions of the studs and all components. I don't know how to get rid of them so I can finish the project. Can you help, or know how to make them go away? Thanks

Is there a pay to put your "scene" onto a graph paper to show the measurements? For example 1/4 inch square = 1ft?
@donaldbridinger640Ай бұрын
Traditionally, dimension lines are always thinner than object lines.

I don't know what you all are using but the move tool using Alt never works, it just drags the face of the selected object and changes its size instead of moving a copy of it.

You say several times in this video to "type in" numbers in the number box. How? When I click on the box, it never allows alteration.
@CWebbTutorialsАй бұрын
You don’t click on the box to use the feature. When using certain tools, you can type in the size you would like. Please watch my beginner tutorial it will make more sense.
@chileshems88Ай бұрын
When you're creating a shape, just start typing and it will write in that section.

Hi! How are you easily navigating from this view? having a hard time panning to different areas without distorting the view everytime.
@CWebbTutorialsАй бұрын
Hi there, you only want to scroll in and out when I’m top down view. Where you place your cursor will determine which direction you’re scrolling towards. Don’t use orbit or pan or it will change the view. Does this make sense?
