At this time Mick, Monty and Greg moved into a house 5 doors down from me. since we had cars and trucks, we were hijack into part time roadie for them. after the shows. I would Play Back Gammon with George until his wife would come and get him, he said it kept him out of trouble . it was fun times, and a experience i will never forget,

What can be said that already hasn't been stated? Bill Nelson's style is unique and unmatched imo. Wonderful piece of music. This musician hasn't got the credit he surely deserves.

Lynch solo reminds me of Michael J. Fox guitar solo Back To The Future. A lot of gibberish. LMAO. Obviously young here and got better.

That Bill dexicated a song to Stewart is touching. Stewart was a major talent that Bill sheparded along in the beginning but of course ad a true talent he found fame if not some fortune. I'm sad that Stewart isnt stiĺl with us.

One of Bills very finest. I saw him do this live at Nelsonica 2012 - in York. . It was even better live. A true 'happening with tapes' and 'even more than international'. 😊

It’s funny how everybody talks how wild and crazy it was back then. They act like people were jumping off the walls and partying. But when you see the crowd footage of motley Crue, exciter, etc. they all just stand there like they’re bored out of their mind. Funny how these bands remember things so much differently. Bunch of BS.

Goerge , Randy and Eddie where making waves in those days. Xciter opened for Quiet Riot and Randy said in an interview that George was the only one that made him nervous. And oh by the way George and Eddie took guitar lessons from the same teacher. 🤔

Thanks but sadly have to agree with a previous commenter that the audio is strangely noticeably worse than previous uploads on this channel. @deckard236 if this is your personal footage it would be great to get it professionally transferred and shared as DVD/mp4 (not on KZbin) to preserve it for fans.

George never plays the same thing twice ... it's a blessing and a curse . When he's on , he's untouchable kinda like Jeff beck
@mr.d.5722 жыл бұрын
@@lloydmunga4961 When I was in college there was this great guitar player on campus whom I was fortunate enough to take some lessons with. He improvised a lot in live gigs. I noticed that some nights he really seemed to be kind of "off." Other times he was on fire. I think it really is a blessing and a curse. I also improvise for the most part but not completely. Then again for the kind of music I play I can get away with it more than a strictly metal player.
@lloydmunga49612 жыл бұрын
Personally I don't like "constructed solos " for the most part . For example, I never really liked randy rhode's soloing . He arranged solos the same way he did songs . He was a good rock song writer though. Don't get me wrong ... there's nothing wrong with it; but in the end it just sounds contrived to me .
@breakingthelaw79742 жыл бұрын
@@lloydmunga4961 so you don’t like any song before the 80’s. The improvisation thing for soloing on a track in the studio wasn’t used until the early 80’s when they got more tracks to record on. Just listen to any old solo before 1980 they are all constructed in some way like the whole VH debut album all the solos are compositions

opens and closes with e-bow. nelson was apparently adamson's role model for guitar playing within a song, setting him on the road to being a songwriter (as did punk). before that I think he aspired to be a r'n'b/blues soloist a la Rory Gallagher, i.e. with adamson's first band 'tattoo' that did cover versions, but that format/style wasn't really a vehicle for developing as a songwriter. some of the guitar lines here remind me of some of adamson's vocal lines (can't tell which), but this sounds a little closer to steve vai/joe satriani territory on guitar. I like the title of this unavailable cd: 'romance of sustain'. electric guitars sustain like violins and apparently with the e-bow could sustain indefinitely which is possibly why it wasn't necessarily user friendly. like how BC used it, though, now and then...nelson's use here is no doubt meant as a nod to that.

This deserves more views. What year was it? Really cool to see George's earlier playing. His awesome vibrato, face-melting tone and unique attack all seem pretty well developed already here. In terms of pure, wild abandon, and especially in the context of the solo that precedes it, the lick at 5.14 is insane 😊.
