I grew up in DP but bought a house by Belle Isle. Tourist traffic is bad in a lot of central florida but worse around DP because of proximity to all the attractions. Belle Isle is so central and convenient and I love the vibe. Ive lived in a few areas habing been born and raised here and Belle Isle is my favorite ❤

Orlando needs to worry on their mass transfer infrastructure. They literally have three train systems. I don’t know if the sun rails considered train or light tram but whatever. And only one of them connect to the airport. And none of them go out to Port Canaveral to the cruise terminals except for the bright line and it still doesn’t go all the way out. Unless they get some more trains around there, they’re the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen other trains. Go to the theme park either. And they don’t run at night and they don’t run on the weekends. Come on your whole city is built on tourism why would you not have stuff running at night and on the weekends and to your airport and to your major theme parks. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

What do you think about the Ocoee moratorium on new permits? Seems positive. I listened to the commissioner meeting where the moratorium passed and the Ocoee leadership was saying all the right things: walkability, good design, interconnectivity, landscape buffers....

One important idea that wasn’t fully or accurately talked about is age. We’re 52 and just bought with no issues. The important detail in being under 55 is your children. If your kids are 19 years old you can buy at I guess any age.

The north part of I Drive is disgusting. The strip malls between Sand Lake and the Outlets need to be bulldozed and the area redeveloped. They've done a great job heading south towards the convention center (although I still miss the Mercado!) but the north is seedy.

What really concern me is that most of the bus stops here on 192 don't have a bus shade with no seats they only have the bus sign and a bench. They need the state of the art bus shade that tell you when the next bus is coming and also it would be cool if they made the bus shelter with air conditioner as you wait for the bus.
@naomibrandt3260
@naomibrandt3260 2 күн бұрын
The problem is is that when you have a bus stop with decent shade and seats it acquires permanent residence by way of individuals who either don’t want to go home or don’t have a home. There are several bus stops in our area that I don’t feel comfortable approaching Because of the people that hang out/live there.

@@naomibrandt3260 nobody don't won't to stand at a bus stop with the sun barring down on them for like 30 minutes. At least they can build a bus shade so you can go inside just in case in might rain and have nice air conditioner inside as you wait for the bus to arrive just my opinion....

Love the idea of a more cohesive thought process for downtown, nothing seems planned. Mills for example is a bustling area on the weekends, but there is no infrastructure, hardly any crosswalks or beautification. Like come on Orlando, add some trees and a bit more safety.

So far NEOCITY is a dud for Osceola County. Locals have no idea what's going on over there and there is virtually no attempt to alleviate traffic along highway 192. There are homes being built but none in the actual NEOCITY. If you want to work in that area anticipate hours of extra driving, few new shopping opportunities and huge numbers of current residents complaining about what seems like out of control growth. The county says they are managing controlled growth but very few believe that.

This video just makes me sad. As someone who grew up in Winter Park, every time I go back home and visit my parents, another house with so much character (and not to mention a family’s memories) has been torn down for some modern looking monster that doesn’t fit with the OG neighborhood. Glorifying teardowns of perfectly good homes… it’s not what WP/Orlando is about.

To know this behemoth is a vacation home, ngl, gives me the ick. In my opinion, this isn't impressive, it's just bad taste. And no, I don't mean the IMO basic neutral decor in the common areas. To build such an excessive, dare I say gaudy, home you will won't live in full time seems more than a little wasteful and smacks of narcissism. IDC how these people got their Smaug piles of riches or what they do with it, but it does make one question the state of the American economy where we seem to have two types of people. The much bigger group is experiencing a crisis of affordability, leading to debt and not being able to save, The other type doesn't have to worry about money and for some reason thinks it is normal, admirable, and sometimes even God-approved ro make as much money as possible and block out the rest of the world who can't relate.
