I’ve witnessed this surgeon come from home at midnight to come perform a 10 hour surgery on a severely sick patient. He was resourceful and respectful and have always enjoyed him as my attending

As a med student watching this, I feel as if I went my entire 3rd year without ever receiving feedback on my presenations.

I explained everything to myself in the smallest detail about the mutation I have. It was very clear. Congratulations! What I find interesting with this video and others on patient presentation is that there is a common framework to how med students present patients, but there are small variations between how we will report on patients in surgery, medicine, OB, and the other specialties.

Almost 9 months Dr. Desai gave me my husband back! Such a wonderful man and Dr. He preformed a full liver transplant on my husband and we were told he was the best... That's an understatement!! UNC is the hospital that cares we will not go anywhere else!! Thanks to everyone that works there!!!

I am one of those pts that came back!!! Dr. Desai gave me my life back! I was deeply saddened to have our relationship come to an end….I felt like I was saying goodbye to a treasured friend! Thank you can never say what I feel inside for all his care and skill!!!

I was blessed to have this wonderful man perform surgery on me. He removed a wedge ("fancy surgery") from my left lung in early 2020. Superb doctor with genuine, down-to-earth bedside manners.
