I would never use ZBrush for ipad. 1. it's expensive the ipad pro 13 inch 1T cost $2,199 (with pencil and keyboard) ZBrush fir IPAD 89.99 Annually cost $2,288.99 this does not not include: training and after all that investment who's gonna hire you ? You have to know more than just ZBrush

Fantastic. Can you make a tutorial of a helmet like this "MT streetfigther SV" using reference images of the front, back, side and top? It would be a great help for me. I customize helmets and I'm starting to use Nomad and Procreate to create my projects. Thank you very much. "A13Adesign"

I tried ZBrush on the iPad and while I enjoyed it and liked some of the more advanced features, I don’t think it will replace Nomad for me. $10 a month seems a bit steep. These monthly subscription based apps seem like just corporate greed. I’m looking at you Adobe. Meanwhile Nomad was created and is being constantly updated by one single person and the app is amazing and keeps getting better.

Anyone having luck utilizing the GoZ feature to port from iPad to desktop? Simple suggestions like enable local network access on iPad or ensuring ZBrush has permission through windows defender don’t seem to be the remedy on my end.

I draw on 120g paper. My sketchbooks are ordinary, but I really like the Moleskine. I also like the yellow and black paper. And I mainly sketch in the toilet because I'm calm there... and because I can see a lot of faces on our pavement there... haha, but I draw normally anywhere. 🙋🏻‍♀️

My table cloth keeps falling straight through the table.. No idea how this is happening because everything is (from what I can tell) set up to be physical objects that should collide. They just don't. If I figure it out I'll report back, if not.. please help :D Update: Got it to work, no idea what I did...

@@aroid_artist I think that might be what I did wrong. It's such a typical newbie mistake in all sorts of apps like this and game engines etc.. I bet one of the most asked questions for 3d physics is "why does my X fall through the Y?" :D

Thanks Glenn! Seems like a cool feature. A couple of thoughts: 1. I realize it’s just a demo video, but I think a round table cloth is better suited for a circular table so you don’t get those pointy corners hanging down. A square or rectangular tablecloth is for square or rectangular tables. It's about aesthetics. There are actually mathematical formulas to determine the best size tablecloth for a table, if you can believe it. 🤣 2. If you’re a cheapskate like me 😜 Blender has these cloth simulation features and dynamic cloth brushes for sculpting too. Granted, Blender’s not an iPad app, but there are screen mirroring apps that support sculpting with an Apple Pencil on the iPad. 3. I never understood the Zbrush nomenclature of Tools and Subtools. Why aren't they called Objects like in most 3D apps? 🤷‍♂To me, a Tool is what you are using to modify or manipulate an object, just like real-life tools. Artists don’t carve a real marble sculpture with a chisel and say “look at this Subtool I made!” That wouldn't make sense.

I bit the bullet and subscribed and I’m happy and frustrated about it. I’ve tried most of the features and like them but it gets very time consuming to master them. The learning curve with the ui is still steep but less frustrating than the desktop version. I remember being somewhat overwhelmed with nomad when I started learning it but the frustration level is tripled in zbrush. But I’m starting to understand the logic behind its setup and it’s growing on me. If you 3d model on mobile strictly then I’d also keep nomad as zbrush doesn’t have the rendering capabilities that nomad has. Hope that helps.

@MrJustwatchin9 actually my start was Solidworks, my background in Industrial Design, but I love designing characters and creatures and sculpting in Nomad. Since I started selling some of the 3d prints of my sculpts, I might bite the bullet as well if it will make things easier. I'm still holding on, though.

@@dwintster oh man then that’s a no brainier. Nomad is more simplified but if you’re already familiar with zbrush then you have much of the features already in the package. Now if you’re already subscribed to zbrush you can activate your license in the app so no need to pay extra. But yea I’m aiming to become more efficient with this app and if all goes well I’ll bite the grenade and get the desktop sub. There’s still some key features missing from the desktop that I’m gonna need so I’m tempted to give it a year and deal with is shortcomings.
@JimmyNuisance

@@dwintster I'd say that if you like making characters, Zspheres is pretty amazing. If Nomad had something equivalent, then Nomad would be pretty much perfect. It's just a bit too clumsy making a full character without some form of posing abilities to get started with. The price just to get access to Zspheres is pretty nuts though, so if it is worth it for you or not is up to you. I bought a year sub cause I kinda want to learn it but I don't want to feel rushed. Don't feel great about the money I spent, but overall I kinda liked the free version enough that I decided I'm going to learn this thing. Live Booleans are also awesome for me cause I do some 3d printing of gaming peripherals etc, which zbrush is going to help a LOT with in that respect. Still.. damn it's expensive..

Hey Glen. ✊ Thanks for your evenhanded response to the subscription thing. 🙏 You turned me on to Nomad & have championed it’s value. These are power tools, and they all have value…some are favorites. As a carpenter, if I could pay $100/year for access to a set of power tools, whenever I needed them…that’s not a bad deal. ZBrush is no slouch…but Nomad is my girl! ✌️🍷🎩🎩🎩🥸

In my opinion ZBrush is better used on a powerful computer like an i9 with a powerful video card and 64 gigs of RAM FOR rendering the tablet cannot handle this the subscription cost 89.99 annually from Maxon. Moreover the Apple tablet Fully Loaded COST $2,199 total cost $2,288.99. And after all that spending you have to train for 3 years or more to get good. Its just not practical.

Great video i understand the process i just am trying to understand all the circumstances and the time in workflow i should be doing this in . For example say i make a 3d model with photogrammery and import into nonad to edit. I should do this first so that once baked textures colors etc remain even if changing to dyn topo etc? Or when exporting it preserves ? Like it seems only benefits to habing flexibimity to adjust res and bake textures so why wait until the hi def head is high def why not earlier in process do this and rhen be sculptinf on what sounds like a more flexible model?

Thanks for your comment. I will explain why we have made the changes to the Nomad Sculpt course. Just for anyone who is also reading this and are not aware. We released the original beginners course in November 2020. Since then, we have fully updated that twice and the beginners module is now about 10 hours of teaching. The other 6 courses we released afterwards have been done in the version at the time of recording. We are not updating these modules. This, however, won’t matter as long as you have fully completed the beginners (or are very proficient in Nomad Sculpt). In August 2024 we made the decision to amalgamate everything together to give you an absolute ultimate course with 30+ hours of my teaching (which works out at $4.20 per hour!!). Our key aim is to ensure we are always giving as much value as we possibly can (whilst still trying to run a business!) Within the ultimate course, once you have purchased it, you will get lifetime access to the course and any updates. For example, in August 2024 we added 3 lessons to the beginners module on Quad Remesher. Therefore when the developer does any major changes/updates/additions you will also get these updates free as you already own the course. I appreciate you may not be able to purchase this course all at once. However, if you email [email protected] I will see if we can do anything to assist. If you have any more questions about this or need any other information then please drop Emma an email at that address, as well.

@SouthernGFX Thank you for sharing a video about the development history of mobile sculpting! Finally someone has summarized the field of mobile sculpting!I have tried many of the mobile sculpting tools mentioned in the video, such as Forger, Valence3D, and CozyBlanket. So far, the most frequently used one is Nomad Sculpt on iPad Pro and Blender on PC. As a sculpting enthusiast, it is a great blessing to be able to use both Nomad Sculpt and ZBrush For iPad, two excellent mobile sculpting tools today. If Apple launches a 16-inch iPad Pro, I will buy it as soon as possible too😀.I look forward to seeing your ZBrush For iPad course soon, and I hope that the mobile sculpting business field will accelerate in the future.
