Did you have to send your first PRP back to Punk? How was the return process? Would you recommend a PRP scooter?
@GiovanniHaleКүн бұрын
Yes I did send the first PUNK RIDER PRO (PRP) back to PunkElectric. Glad you asked about the return process. It was pretty easy. I made a video about the process. Customer service did respond to my request and I sent the first vehicle back due to the vehicle shut off to often. Would I recommend the PRP? yes I would but ensure you know what you are getting yourself into. The vehicle is fast and gets up to speed quickly. If you want to see it in action, just watch a few of my videos. Next make sure you are ok with the weight. Finally calculate the cost of the tire changes as you will need to change tires

@@GiovanniHale Thank you for the reply. Regarding the "tire changes". Do you mean the tire changes in general, or do you actually have to change the factory tires right from the jump...because they suck? The tire changing maintenance is my biggest hesitation, because I'm always hearing about how much of a pain on the a** it is to change a tire on a scooter. Thanks again!
@MrMotoMotivate10 сағат бұрын
You’re very welcome! I meant the actual tire change. I don’t think you need to change them when you first get the scooter. I believe you should get used to using the scooter first. Then, after you get used to it, I might consider tire changes. But the tire change takes about an hour and a half, maybe two hours. My caution to you is to make sure you consider that you’ll need to take very small screws out because it’s a split rim. Other than that, the tire change itself wasn’t horrible. It just took longer than I expected. If you have some apprehension about the tires, I might consider looking at some other options. But based on the diameter of the tires, I didn’t find many options that fit on the scooter. You may find something else.

I got a question I just got the scooter and the app is sort of funny acting. Looks like this scooter will turn off after idling. I haven’t rode it yet. So I see you can set a top speed but can’t you do this for each gear or do you know if this is in a different setting? Also do you know if there is a way to change Celsius to Fahrenheit? I plan on riding this after work tomorrow and give it a maiden voyage.
@MrMotoMotivate4 күн бұрын
First off let’s say congratulations is certainly in order. Yes you can change it by gear 1-3 in the app. It’s a horrible app because they are using an app that is used by other companies so it’s a bit strange but it does work as long as you have a Bluetooth connection. If it ever starts to close on you. Just close the app and reopen it. It works every time . Did you record the unboxing?

@@HisShadowX Unfortunately, until the company releases its own app, we won’t have the level of detail were looking for. For now, we’ll have to work with our limited information. The top speed for each gear is as follows: gear 1 is 13 mph, gear 2 is 20 mph, and gear 3 is 32 mph. I can confirm that these are the exact speeds.
@HisShadowX4 күн бұрын
@@GiovanniHale thanks for the info. So I was able to limit the device to 20mph. I’ll say this in terms of the Apollo Go turning feels better on the go and the electric breaks. Mine gave out when I was testing this in Hines, Illinois today. It went from being extremely powerful to weak. I haven’t had it cut off in my just yet but I seen that was a major problem for people. The rear foot mat is coming off and it just came like that I never used that part of the scooter. The power button was literally falling off I had to push it back in. The scooter looks very nice but I am not a fan of the turning. Overall I don’t think I’ll be returning the scooter but I am going to be cautious when riding this scooter

@@HisShadowX I will admit it does take some time to get used to that turn, but once you get into the lean you will become a natural. Just trust me on that one. You have to take it out for a distance ride. Are you thinking of doing it this weekend?
@HisShadowX4 күн бұрын
A lighter version of this same scooter will just mean you’ll get less mileage and speed. Essentially, the reason why some of these scooters are so heavy is because of the battery. Now, you’ve got two choices. Either you go real fast with a hyper scooter, but you have less range, or you go a little bit slower, but you get more range. Unfortunately, these are technical limitations of the batteries at this moment. I’m hoping this will be solved so we could indeed get lighter scooters. I don’t necessarily want a fast scooter anymore. I used to. But what I want is a scooter that can reliably go the distance. However, also have a scooter I could easily pick up and bring back and forth.

You’re a good one because I would have taken my scooter right into the store. And I’ve done so numerous times. I don’t think there’s been a place where I have not been able to bring my scooter in. Sometimes I might have to fold it up, depending on the building-like if it’s an office building downtown or a doctor’s office. Usually, security will have me fold it up. Other than that, there is no way I am leaving my scooter outside unless I’m locking it up. But I do have a question. You did mention that you use the front and back brakes. Now, I’ve owned at least four scooters at this point. The fourth is going to be your scooter, which is coming in the mail. The second scooter was front and rear-wheel drive, but it malfunctioned. I ended up going over the handlebars when it accidentally engaged the front brake. I’m curious to know, do you pull both brakes or just one when you want to engage the regular brakes? I like using the regenerative brakes, but there have been emergencies, even on my Apollo Go, where people turned into me. Even in a protected bike lane on Lake Street, for example, where a person has a right turn, they don’t look-they look left instead of right. I’ve had to use all my brakes, plus regen, and also kind of make a right turn to stop. So, how do you use your brakes?
@MrMotoMotivate9 күн бұрын
In January 2024, I began riding my scooters. My first scooter was a Niu KQI 2. I had never driven an electric vehicle before that day. I've learned a few things about braking. On the Punk Rider Pro, I usually use the rear brake. However, when I need to make a quick stop, I use both the front and rear drum brakes. Even with the rear drum brake, it has a long stopping distance in the rain.
@HisShadowX9 күн бұрын
@@MrMotoMotivate So it sounds like both me and you got started riding at the same time. I essentially, right after that cold front that we had, where it was, what, negative 15 or 20, right when some of that snow melted in January, that’s when I started riding. I had already bought my vehicle, and I sort of had to wait. Now, I had something sort of similar to yours, your first one. The only difference was I did not have, it looks like, I think that one has regen braking. I didn’t have that. It was like one of the older pros of another brand from at least a year and a half ago. And it was extremely outdated now. But the only good thing about it was it had shocks. So when you went over something, it didn’t feel as bad. Okay, so I think I’m going to do what you recommend and, well, not what you recommend, but what you’re saying you use the rear brakes, because I think that’s the smart move, because you hit those front brakes, and you end up going over the handlebars when it lifts the rear up. And that’s actually what happened to me once. And keep in mind, that was a hyper scooter that went up to 50 miles an hour, and it completely malfunctioned. Okay, thanks for the information, man. I’m really looking forward to getting the Punk Rider. Unfortunately, they just delayed it until Sunday, but I think we’re getting rain this weekend, so I’ll have to test this out next week.

My vehicle would turn off when two actions happened repeatedly. First, during rain when I take off, the wheels start spinning, causing the vehicle to turn off to combat the wheel spin. Second, when going downhill and using regenerative braking, the vehicle would turn off. This has only happened a handful of times, and I’m under 500 miles on the vehicle.

Yes Punk Electric ⚡️ made good with getting me a new machine quickly. I shipped them the old unit back and even before they opened the box I had a new Zeus in the house. I have rode it just under 💯 miles and I feel like it’s a totally different machine. Tire compound and the stem latch are so much better on this unit. No stem wobble at higher speeds. They made right the issue. So far so good 😊
