I take the topographic ocean as the Wakeman keyboard breaks. It's like it's ushering something into the world. Into being. Another reality. I think we are in the middle of traveling on a topographic ocean that has become a maelstrom.

There is only one Yes band and one masterpiece like Tales from Topographic Oceans.

The only problem with a song like this is that you can only hear it for the first time one time.

The difference between Trevor Rabin and Steve Howe is that Trevor is a very good rock guitarist but Steve is an exemplary PROG ROCK guitarist.

Remember going to see them at Birmingham town hall. When they performed this they had a search light , maybe two which they turned on. Yes we were definitely blinded by the light. Just brilliant!

I was lucky to see it performed in Amsterdam. Increadible still. Cannot image it to be ever performed again by any group af musicians.

1979, Muncie Indiana, my parents went to see Boston, Yes, and Golden Earring in Indianapolis. They left us with a babysitter. I was 11 years old at that time and I remember being so utterly disappointed that I couldn't go. I still have a resentment. JK.

Then There Were Three was actually the first Genesis album I bought (UK Summer 1978.. mourning a lost girlfriend!!!).. I then went back in the catalogue to Trick of The Tail, Nursery Crimes etc.. Saw them in Southamptom 1980/81 (?) during Duke phase... Then they got too 'poppy' for my liking and I moved on.. but kept all the GOOD eariler stiuff of course

PS: Favourite moment of Then There Were Three is the echoing piano play out of The Lady Lies... AWESOME
