Why don’t you like cutting glass?

Hi I've just been given a cube. Thanks so much for showing us the way to facet optical glass. My question is as you look at the cube which face do you dop the glass. The person who gave it to me suggested I dop it on a corner rather than the flat face. Just looking at the cube do dop on top of the 4 lines or through the clear cube. Many thanks again. What type of faceting machine(s) do you prefer to work on? I’m just beginning to think about trying gem cutting, so I’m trying to learn about the various faceting machines out there. There seems to be a lot of manufacturers, but (except for the ultra-cheap Chinese ones) they’re all VERY expensive.

May I ask why you used the wheel at such a large size? Most experts would suggest using the cutter to trim to as close to the outline as possible then dop and use the wheel?
