I would have never thought Les Claypol could sub for Mark but that was pretty good.

Poor Les seems incapable of singing without the “character” voice.

Been a fan of both since the 90s, and only now discovered this video. Are there any other recordings from this session?

From the first note it’s obvious that, while Les is great, the bassist ain’t no Sandman.

Wow when 3 icons converge to pay tribute to another icon. Imagine if they wrote new songs as a brand new band with this line up? Mark would be proud.

If Dana Colley joined Primus as an official 4th member, I might have to just eat my hat. And then I would proceed to cry rainbows

I love Morphine and Primus (perhaps not equally, but they are completely different bands aside from being both trios) I didn't know this existed until now. Sincerely appreciate Les Claypool doing this, but have to agree with most comments here. Mark Sandman had a unique smoothness and baritone depth to his voice (and playing) that is completely in counterpoint to Les Claypool's characteristic slightly unhinged vibrato laden twang. Which totally works for Primus, it just doesn't really work here at all. Turning it into not only a completely different song in energy and feel (it's oddly jovial and amped up strange in comparison). Had it been Les fronting Morphine in a parallel universe, this song (and the band in that bizarro world) would have likely been a complete failure. Just shows how essential Mark's unique talent was for Morphine. Which in a way carries on his legacy, but I can't see listening to this more than the one time I just did.

This is in no way a dis to Les Claypool, I think this version is cool. Hearing the song without Mark's bass and voice makes you really appreciate how perfect Morphine was together. Every once in a while the exact right people get together at the exact right time with the exact right talent. I'm glad Les joined them for this. I'm sure he realized he had big unique shoes to fill.

they were indeed perfect.. Mark was one of the best lyricists since Joplin. Cash, Hendrix and SR Vaughn.. indig both new and old blues but nobody beats Mark

Hey Karen, then why are you dising? You know Mark's dead. STFU. This was a genius mix. I would have never paired Les and Morphine, but it freakin' works. Glass half empty aren't you? This beats the shit out of Sammy Hagar replacing ELR.

Great tribute to MS. His two string bottleneck slide bass was absolutely key to the Morphine sound though. Thanks for posting! 😘

I have this tent and only used it once. I am going to use it later this month and this video helped me understand everything I didn't get when doing a trial run set-up in my back yard. Thanks for this video...still useful after all these years!

I got this tent many years ago and still love it. It is very good quality and roomy. I just wish it was lighter so I could take it on longer backpacking trips. It is 4 lbs too heavy to be considered a light tent. I use a Marmot EOS 1P for long trips (2lbs).

Ive always said that Primus and Morphine were the two most original bands that defied genres and could only exist in the 90s. Pleasantly surprised to see this collaboration
