I won't lie, I do not enjoy the design language of this. But that doesn't mean it won't feel good! You also know I don't like the design language of alotof brands newer items lately. Just like the old-school looks. I think we sre going slightly in the wrong direction and luckily I'm not the only one who thinks so.
@grayzedynamicsСағат бұрын
Gotcha. I like the industrial look myself but as someone with the DFP20 I appreciate the simplicity. I do enjoy this over LED’s on my wheelbase tho lol. But overall, the most important part is the feedback we get and the on track performance. This wheelbase is made for the masses, the DFP is made for the no compromise crowd.
@reviewforthetube6485Сағат бұрын
@grayzedynamics I agree for sure. I also never liked led's on a wheelbase but when they have a function I'm more acceptable of it. Idk what it is led has grown on me. But not to much. Every wheel I own i leave on low because I like rgb but I don't like insane rgb. I cut down half of the effects on my stuff. Lol but I like nice rgb that looks good but at a more dim level. I like simagics new wheelbase coming in the same way I like this wheelbase. Its ok but I wish these brands would stick with there design language. Most nailed it imo. I've seen this phase in pc gaming also it always fades and dies out. Soon we will be back to the more clean minimalistic look. Just seems to happen in phases.
@grayzedynamicsСағат бұрын
I feel ya. If you love the raw design of the DFP20, this would not be that. The appeals more to the masses not the die hard like us with multiple wheels, pedals and bases. This is for the plug and play crowd but has many of the tried and true functionality. The masses may not like the raw look as much. 😉

A couple of question: 1. Are they selling the “wireless” wheel side adapter on its own to put on the 20nm base? Looks like currently you can only pre order it with the 295 wheel. 2. Will the wheel side quick release be available on its own? Is the connection going through the PCB standard USB so we can use our DIY wheels? 3. Will any NRG wheel side quick release work with the VRS base side adapter?
@grayzedynamicsКүн бұрын
Hey mate. 1. They will be selling it separately for just the base side in the future. 2. They will also be selling the wheel side in the future as well. I will share more about this in the future. Keep your eyes peeled. 3. You can use any NRG wheel side QR on the base.

Great channel, subscribed. Partly due to your videos I'm very close to ordering a 3 pedal set of VX-Pro pedals. As a retired guy who is a (relatively) casual racer I'm looking for a lifetime set of pedals. I like that the load cells used are an industry standard that I could buy locally if ever needed. My concern is the 3D printed box where the cables connect into. If that were to fail (even a decade from now) is that something I could replace myself? I have an email in to Simgrade asking this question or if I could even buy a spare box. It's the week between Christmas and New year's so they may be off. I have to decide quickly because Simagic (plan B) has amazing sales going till December 12-31-24

Can I still use the existing hub adapter with the new QR fitted or will I have to keep removing the new QR to use my existing basic rally wheel that uses the existing hub adapter? Or will I effectively have to throw away the existing hub to use the new QR and just get an additional wheel side NRG? This wheel not having USB at launch feels like a bit of an oversight for existing uses who don’t want or need the new QR. Thanks for any feedback.
@grayzedynamicsКүн бұрын
Hey mate. So yes, you will have to use the new QR connect adapter to run this wheel and you will be able to run your other wheels with any NRG QR. There is more to come about QR'S from VRS and I think you will like the plans for the future. As for the USB connection. That is already in talks to launch for those that want a USB wheel, there will be more to come in the coming months about that part.

VRS has always been at the top for an upgrade path for me, but it was always the wheels that let it down IMO. The R295 is a step in the right direction, but again another "propriatary" connector. Why oh why can't the manufactures all agree on a standard. Hmmm, I wonder if that might be something to do with competition? I think most sim-racers and I am not talking about pro drivers or aliens just want a complete system that they can "plug-and-play", once it starts to get to the point of fiddle-f@rting about with gear a lot of people lose interest, mainly because they are not sure if a certain wheel will be good on their wheelbase or not, they do not want cables hanging from it, even though that is how it is in real life. They just want the simplicity of just being able to get a wheel they like and plop it on their wheel. I also think the advancement of other sim-racing equipment manufactures are leaving VRS in their dust, again just my opinion. I always value you perspective on things and yes I can fully understand not wanting recommend anything. I have been burnt doing that even though there was nothing wrong with the product and it being the users fault. It still hurts and stings 3 years later. Keep up the good work.
@grayzedynamics3 күн бұрын
I understand. More standardization would make life easy. I will say this, as more is coming and I will be able to share more soon. This wheel is likely to come to a USB connection near you. They plan on offering this for others to use as well. So that will help. This is just the first step in a line of things to come. VRS is now trying to play catch up and that means rebranding, hiring people like me to share that message and offer feedback on where to go next. I am confident that after reading all you have stated you will Ike where this goes. And don't worry, I am always going to be honest, have opinions and push back on bad design. VRS actually believes those same things and have pivoted quite well, but now is the tie to be better in 2025. Just be patient and I think you will like the future. 😉

How hard do you think it will be to implement both? I currently am using xeroplay qr to swap my two wheels I have. (One is just a wheel for drifting/oval, no buttons). Is the wheel 70mm bolt pattern? Last question: Can it be run on a different qr such as the Xero-play and still be wireless? (The wheel only)

Thx for the feedback. Appreciate it. So as of now, the wheel is currently only for the VRS Bases and QR. However, there will be one that will be wired in the future. Hello, great Video! Yesterday I saw a used Moza R21 V2 + KS Wheel for 660€ (bought in July). Should I go for it? I actually wanted to buy the VRS when their new Wheel Rim releases but that would cost me 1250€. What do you think? Is the Moza R21 V2 a good choice for 660€ with the Wheel or is the Vrs still better even for twice the price.
@grayzedynamics14 күн бұрын
So it all depends on what you want to do long term. There will be a nice ecosystem for VRS and a way to attach third party wheels in the future. Miss is a nice brand and if the goal is to save money and your budget is limited. I’d say go with the Moza. However, the VRS is ultimately better and one of the top wheelbases on the market. However, budget is always the key. Better doesn’t matter if it’s outside of your price range.
@mexflexpert485014 күн бұрын
@grayzedynamics thank you for your answer man. In what terms is the VRS better, I just heard that it has better encoder resolution but as someone who currently has a 6nm thrustmaster belt driven ts pc racer i really don't know much about DD wheels yet.
@grayzedynamics14 күн бұрын
So. The response time and slew rate is better. The smoothness of the base and tuning settings are better. Mounting the base has many options without modification and the KS wheel isn’t the best. There are much better options out there. Getting into the DD market is crazy now as there are many choices by the best value has always been a VRS DFP20nm base. Now they are launching their new stuff. Now gear like Simagic, Simucube and Asetek are great too. Really depends on what you are looking for as a racer. What is your budget, how often will you use your gear, front mount vs bottom mount, ecosystem vs plug and play. VRS pedals are some of the best on the market and at a good price. Simagic makes the p1000’s which are good. With all that your budget will determine where you go. If you ever want to chat about it, easier to give you advice over chat or discord.
