Simon and Garfunkel didn't make this song, it dates back from at least the 18th century in England, possibly even the 1600s.

Are you going to Scarborough Fair? Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme Remember me to one who lives there She once was a true love of mine Tell her to make me a cambric shirt (On the side of a hill, in the deep forest green) Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme (Tracing of sparrow on snow-crested ground) Without no seams nor needle work (Blankets and bedclothes the child of the mountain) Then she'll be a true love of mine (Sleeps unaware of the clarion call) Tell her to find me an acre of land (On the side of a hill, a sprinkling of leaves) Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme (Washes the grave with silvery tears) Between the salt water and the sea strands (A soldier cleans and polishes a gun) Then she'll be a true love of mine Tell her to reap it with a sickle of leather (War bellows blazing in scarlet battalions) Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme (Generals order their soldiers to kill) And gather it all in a bunch of heather (And to fight for a cause they've long ago forgotten) Then she'll be a true love of mine Are you going to Scarborough Fair? Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme Remember me to one who lives there She once was a true love of mine

4:00a.m 5/04/2024 65%

idk why they credit simon and garfunkel with this song. The song itself can be traced back to the 17th century in one form or another.

One of my favorite all time songs. Of course I love Simon and Garfunkel and love how nox arcana played with the lyrics but still stayed true to the songs story but OMG this incredible artist with the subtle runs and unbelievable voice combined with this ingenious arrangement is mystical magical spiritual an experience in itself that carries me away to a time and place that only exist in my dreams congratulations on a masterpiece

Are you going to Scarborough Fair? Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme, Remember me to one who lives there, She once was a true love of mine. Tell her to make me a cambric shirt, Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme, Without no seam nor fine needlework, then she'll be a true love of mine. Have you been to Scarborough Fair? Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme, Remember me from one who lives there, He once was a true love of mine.
