Sandy I wish you could help me with my sons Fiesta Stline 140bhp ecoboom 1.0 2018 Spent around £6500 on engine and then gearbox. All new clutch,injectors,plugs Ran engine in and not long after a steering lock malfunction. A ford master tech with his own garage look at it and said eventually there was a corrupt file. Waited 5 month and nothing. But the bullet and put into Ford they quoted £1500 and put new BCM and battery (we had already replaced BCM but not new) Did not fix and then said it’ll be another £7300 . So car sits a present in Ford and probably need to get towed back to our driveway. The nightmare continues and don’t know what to do?

Fuel line rubber o rings can suck air without leaking fuel im sure you can replace them using a small pick.

Hello, the problem in my vehicle is the same, but I changed the sensor and the problem was not solved. Did you clear the fault code after changing the sensor? Or did the direct light go out?

Ahh man, what a nightmare. There is too much engine for not much engine bay. Hi, I would have done a voltage drop test first before making the call on the starter. There is too much crap to remove, and it may not be the starter. Could be a voltage drop at the starter motor

Hi, I had the same issue, I flushed it atleast 8 times cleaned the filter everytime and used 2 bottles of radiator cleaner. It used to work for like a half a day and stop working again next day, cleaned the 4 way valve aswell, same again worked for a day and taken the air out the system and it worked for a day again, took it to mechanics they tried aswell same thing couldn't fix it, I removed the filter and tried that! And it works!!!! It's been 4weeks of very hot heating will replace the filter some point and flush the system again in summer time but don't let the mechanics say it's the heater matrix, had taken it to 5 different garages they couldn't figure it out

P. S, if you have a small chip in your windscreen and heater starts to work, get it fixed, mine cracked due to heating working too well and ended up cracking the windscreen as soon as I fixed the car, 1 problem solved another started, (maybe use window glue on chip before trying to fix the heating) £2 of amazon

I’ve just done this on my Mrs car with my topdon. She’s been using loads of fuel. No codes though, but I just had it combined live data, bank 2 orange was flat all the way for about ten revs, then it started following the same wave pattern as the bank 1 blue, is it safe to say bank 2 sensor is bad?? 😂

If the waveforms are the same after car heated up you may need a catalytic converter

@ ah ok, bank two was doing the same wave form as bank one after a few revs not spiking but following the blue line. Could that be bad bank 2 sensor though?

4 bar its shown by default can be 4 bar or lower wont show 1 bar, the pressure should be 6 bar or 6,3bar, the problem could be the adblue tank

I changed the oil 2 times in the last 4 000 kilometers and my " remaining oil life " drops dramatically fast . Just done this job on my Mk 7.5 Fiesta. Few tips if you’re attempting it. 1) Replace the Cam Cover gasket. after doing this job. It’s only c.£13 and your cam cover will leak oil down the back of the engine if you don’t. 2) It took me 4 attempts to get the plugs to seat properly so buy extras when picking them up. They’re only £1.25+vat each. Part No. 167490. 3) Instead of removing the wiper blades and cowling etc. just use a shallow socket and short extension. It allows for more room when chapping the plug down. 4) if using a chrome socket go for a 17mm. An 18mm socket will hit the sides and not seat the plug all the way. 4) Don’t drill the old plugs to release them. Chap down one of the sides and the old plug will spin until vertical. Then grab with a pair of needle nose and yank it out. Be careful not to push the plug all the way into the head. It’s a ball ache to get out. (Ask me how I know). 5) Change the spark plugs after doing the job to prevent misfires. I’m a pretty handy DIY mechanic but this job is heartbreaking. If the plugs aren’t completely seated they will leak. Even if it looks watertight when the coolant system is pressurised and the head expands when hot it will Leak. Just keep trying until you get a good seal. As above it took me 4 attempts. Some folk say to use Tigerseal around the mating surface between the plug and the head but the time I got it to seat properly I didn’t use any sealant. 6) Good luck. Hopefully you fare better than me.

If you pack the coil with dielectric grease then moisture cannot get in there. It does not effect metal on metal electrical connections, so perfect for all electric connections too.

Is there any harm done driving the vehicle like this? Aside from a longer warm up as the thermostat is open. We had the complete assembly replaced maybe 2 1/2 years ago with a genuine unit but now got the P0128 fault code so looks like the main thermostat.

Hi, if the 2 dots on the bottom gears are lined up with each other and the cams locked with cylinder 1 at TDC, would yoh say its properly timed up? I only ask as I've done one today and the crankshaft locking tool would not go in the hole to lock the crank so decided to do it without that. I would have run it but was doing it at work but they closed before I had time to finish.

The battery discharge counter should have been reset when the new battery was fitted before it came to you Sandy. The counter simply measures the battery voltage at a level it's required to be recharged again.

Great video. Thanks for going into such detail. Im trying to sort a cruise control issue on a 2012 Mondeo. I can activate it and set a speed, the dash shows active but the car doesnt hold speed and as soon as i lift off the accelerator, the cruise switches back to "standby". Fun and games.
