I left the editing business in my late 20s as I found it to be lonely work (and a "feast or famine" lifestyle can get old.) MAD shout-out to Mary Sweeney for her superb work on Fire Walk with Me and Mullholland Drive!

Childhood fears are one of the horrifying things you need to go threw, because you can either get scared so much or you might imagine a monster that's in your closet.

the riddler from Gotham tv series seems very normal if you compare him to Louis bloom. And they both have the same LOGICAL insanity.

The biggest twist was still somehow making me think this was a Marvel movie when I first saw the trailers. Then I was disappointed, then I was impressed, and then I was blown away.

15:11 to this day the ending “jumpscare” scene where we see those three naked people when peter quickly turns his head and the camera cuts to them was the most effective jumpscare ive ever experienced and it didn’t even have any sound q’s or monsters. it caught me so off guard with the lighting and how close they were to peter

For me, it was the case of Junko Furuta. I stumbled upon a true crime videos about it with very detailed descriptions when I was about 8 or 9 and terrified me. I was scared of going outside alone, let alone talking to strangers, for a really long time after that and just thinking about it still scares me. Thanks mom for giving me unlimited access to the internet at age 6 I guess.

So mine is a bit odd. When I was little (late 90s), I used to have nightmares about this black sock-puppet looking thing with yellow eyes looking at me through my bedroom window and breathing loudly at me. It wasn't until I was an adult that I was able to piece together what my toddler brain was showing me: My parents used to watch a lot of MTV at that time, so Sifl and Olly would have been on the TV ever so often. I was seeing Sifl in my nightmare, and I was probably hearing my mom's snoring from the other room while I was having that nightmare.

I had this happen to me one year ago when I first saw an image of some creature in a backrooms video. I mentally sh't myself and turned on music to calm down (For some reason I turned to politics to get over my fear by being angry and frustrated). I then found it again, but felt like it was just a dumb image. I searched multiple websites for the original source until I figured out it was from a Trevor Henderson post on Reddit: "He's watching you." Even right now after looking it up and making sure I spelled it right, I kind of got shocked by looking at it. Also, I do read the descriptions. Spikima feeding us nightmare noodles.

For me, It's a picture in a dark garage, or atleast from what I remember. It's a blue woman with no right other arm. And with her other arm she is holding her head, and her head is just looking at the camera soullesly.. I never found that picture again, and I hope i never do

My Traumatic picture was the one of the Bear Dog Plushie, that one with a porcelain like face of a dog and a teddy bear like body plush that is sitting on a shelf looking downwards to the camera/viewer, after many years of seeing that picture i discovered that the entire internet community finally found out where that Bear Dog plushie came from.

when i was 5 or 6 (circa 1998) i catched a glimpse of count Orlok's shadow on tv late at night. it was a short clip from Murnau's 1922 Nosferatu used in a documentary about supernatural evil, the famous scene in the staircase. i shat my pants profusely and wasn't able to sleep in peace after that. same thing happened when i saw that scene for the second time in film school many years later 😢

Can never forget about 1 Hour Photo, with Robin Williams. One scene, and only one scene has stuck with me for over 20 years. His dream. Well nightmare. Standing in the isle of the supermarket he works for. No words are spoken or sounds other than the music building. Then his eyes open, and blood oozes from them, and he grabs his face as blood shoots from between his fingers... still gives me goosebumps

"Knives Out" and "Glass Onion" have done great early/mid-movie plot twists as well! Not sure I have the stomach for most of the films you mentioned, but learning about them and how they're pulled of is super interesting!

For me it was the red faced demon from insidious, it always had a strange effect on me the first time I saw it at 8. Later that night I tripped and cracked my head open. Then I watched it again at my ex’s house when I was 16, and on my way back home I got in a car accident.
