'Train lines' sounds so alien. I go to a railway station to catch a train that traverses the railway, having first bought a railway ticket.

Thanks for the informative video. One question - If using a contactless card for a return journey, will the amount eventually charged depend upon the number of zones crossed, or will it always default to the maximum (ie that for Zones 1, 2, 3 and 4?
@tramographyMCR23 күн бұрын
The former. It should never charge you for e.g. 1+2+3+4 if you have only travelled through 1+2.

I recall walking across the bridge at 10:40 about 10 years ago....the steps seemed particularly steep....and looking across, as you did, towards what were once extensive sidings. It was at that time unlevelled ground with a forest of vegetation. I found your video fascinating and your enthusiasm was infectious. You've got another subscriber.

Just watched this. Is there like an official timetable of when trams arrive at each stop so you’re not stood around waiting? I’ve got to go from Piccadilly to Altrincham soon and I don’t want to miss the tram accidentally.
@tramographyMCR2 ай бұрын
@@DrifterWill It's very annoying that the Metrolink actually doesn't share official timetables at tram stops or on the website, just first and last tram times. All tram routes (each colour on the network diagram) run every 12 minutes, so if you do miss one, you have at most a 12 minute wait for the next tram, if there is no disruption to service. In short, the trams are frequent enough that TfGM doesn't see a need for the timetables to be at tram stops. I will be making another video on this at some point, as I think this is at least a minor issue and something that needs to be fixed.

I started to watch this but the different styles of music at varying volume levels throughout is a distraction. It really does not need this if the content is of sufficient quality. Just my opinion but I see this in too many videos on KZbin. A lot of successful channels have no music because they just don’t need it. This video is informative and interesting, don’t try so hard to keep viewers attention with the unnecessary music.

Let's face it Manchester Airport is a dump. the toilet facilities are minimal and you have to walk miles to the gate or to passport control upon arrival to the UK. Public transport links are abysmal and I have never seen the moving walkway from the airport to the train station working. The area which seems to have received the most attention from the airport planners is the Duty Free area which you are forced to walk through to reach the departure lounge. A short cut should be provided for people who do not wish to buy overpriced crap or cheap booze and fags.

Don't forget to check the tram timetable so you know you've missed the tram you wanted to get or you've got ages to wait for the next one.

Really interesting I worked for British Rail back when the overheads went in and spent many nights up there...interesting, well at least for me during the conversion we would enter the Bury line at Cheetham Hill Junction and not through the tunnel which was the more standard routing. The funny thing is I haven't travelled on Metrolink anywhere on the system yet since it opened... Although in defence I did live in the US for ten years during that period!!!

The Cheetham Hill Loop used to have lots of sidings feeding into Man Vic. It always seemed random that if you caught the train to Oldham weather it would go that way or via Miles Platting but i always preferred the Cheetham Hill way as it just seemed faster back in the early 90s.

Thank you. That was interesting. I was an occasional visitor to Manchester in the 2010s and saw various bits of Metrolink being brought into service. I had a spare evening one day and got the tram to Rochdale, and was puzzled by the way heavy rail tracks kept appearing and disappearing for the first couple of miles, so thank you for the explanation and diagrams. I was puzzled by the Central Park stop, which I expected to be serving a large public open space rather than an industrial estate!
@tramographyMCR2 ай бұрын
@@tomburnham5119 About your last sentence, that's interesting because Central Park was actually supposed to be this huge bus/tram/train interchange, but only the tram stop is in operation right now. The canopy above the tram stop is incredible though, it was designed by the same person who has worked on things like Canary Wharf DLR station in London.

Hi. Will someone please tell the people in charge of the "Bee Network" app to download a demonstration of how to work the app. It is so confusing. I have asked for an instruction book on how to use it but did not get one. I have informed Bee Network that I do not understand it as it is so complicated. I have asked other people how it works and they have said that they have uninstalled it but it is too complicated and two others said they have it but can not use it. I can not find anyone who can show me how to use it. Please tell someone to put a KZbin video on showing us how the thing works. Thank You Garry Uk
