Awesome video, but are you sure it's a European? I didn't see the trademark arm spots (black circle in a white oval close to the thorax). Still, it got my like!
@my4vr4 ай бұрын
Thank you for the kind words and for liking the video! To be honest, I'm not completely sure if it's a European mantis. I appreciate your keen observation! If you have more information or could help identify it, that would be fantastic. Thanks again!

It looks like a second or third instar (I'm guessing you took the footage around mid- to late-June?) Depending on your area, the most common is probably the Chinese mantis, which do vary in coloring between brown, tan and green. While I haven't seen any live mantises in the wild (excluding my back yard), I have hunted both Chinese and European ootheca (egg sacs) successfully in the Rhode Island area, and am now raising some 49 mantises (again, Chinese and European). Check out the channel if you want. Keep up the good work, and I always look forward to seeing more mantises!

@@MANTISHUNT Raising 49 mantises sounds like quite an adventure! Thanks for the detailed information. I checked out your channel and loved the content about raising and feeding mantises. Thanks again for your insight and support!

A shotgun works faster.😂 I like to create very special DOS batch files for fun, but not to crash the system. I use batch files as an open source container to put instructions of a routine inside to create&run new executable files of mashine code from the routine inside. This is very low level programming.
