This song is still so good honestly

Easily my favorite of the female covers of this song! I feel like many female singers either struggle with the half spoken nature of the lyrics, which messes with the notes they assign to the syllables a little (and the result sounds weirdly off to my ears) or they lean into the singing harder and go all playful on it in a way that feels too "frilly" for me, like vocalizing at the end of words. Both are completely valid choices to make a song their own! But I personally really like the way you did it, keeping the vocals somewhat simple and sleek, but going really hard on the spoken parts like the "ouch!". I feel like you're the only one I've heard so far who just stuck to a lower to medium register throughout and that really appeals to me. Maybe I'm boring but it's simply a song I never liked for its variety - the rhythm and sway of the syllables has always been the bigger appeal to me. It reminds me of a heavy pendulum slowly swinging closer and closer, and you translated that particular quality so well here! Thank you for this great cover!

This sounds so beautiful, almost tragically so. Rather than soundin' like a stalker/killer in your version, this sounds more like someone is simply different. Be it a disability or simply being unconventionally attractive, anything that makes them feel unworthy of their love interest. Which I can definitely relate to this version more as I'm autistic. It's pretty easy for me to come across as a weirdo or even creep cause struggle to read and understand social cues, which only furthers feelings of not belonging. I'm not like other humans, closest I can ever get is masking but at the end of the day it's still just pretend. Though if being honest, I prefer the other version. Sounds more.. You? Not sure how to describe it as know nothing of music, but it's unique to your channel. Voice is amazing no matter what ya sing, but your personal style is what makes you different compared to other artists.

It's been awhile, no life update this time: it's been so topsy-turvy and chill that there's nothing much to speak on, just hanging in there and enjoying my time and peace. Between this "honest" version and the "alternative", I will say both have me in a neck and neck chokehold, but the leaning deciding factor is honestly towards the Honest side of this cover: I like how real it feels, it sounds. just no effects, no glamour or distortion, just a Reality setting in over it. We don't always need you to be in character: you're allowed to be You and open up to others. and I'm glad you don't regret this version, cause sometimes hearing the person behind the music is important, not just knowing them by their persona. still keeps to that Honest Reality bit I had said. (This also did quickly end up being in my D&D playlist for a Bard of mine, cause lord what song of yours wouldn't end up in a D&D playlist of mine for a character at this point?) I hope things get better for you and you don't get so sad..but sometimes, using that emotion like this can bloom something out of it too. so don't be afraid to open up to the world Jayney. catch ya around~

This is really nice, so glad to finally hear this version of the song from you! I love how drastically different this feels. I could see both versions being played in a story for different viewpoints of a character, and that just gets my mind swimming with ideas.
