I just found your video and thank you. I have had a Ruger American Ranch in 7.62x39 for almost 3 years. It is my one and only center fire bolt action as I have a stock pile of ammo for it and a number of AKs. I should have bought one or two fewer AKs and one or two more bolt actions including one in 6.5 Creedmore. However, my Ruger Ranch is sub MOA with any steel cased ammo from Barnaul. I have had a Leupold VX R 1.25x4 on it with a very coarse cross hair which makes it more difficult for me to hold a consistent point of aim at 100 yards or further. I just ordered a Vortex Viper HD 2-10 with a much finer reticle. It will be interesting to see if I can tighten the groups to around 1/2 MOA which I have seen others do with this same rifle and ammo. I just noticed after watching your video that mine has the same mark around the barrel. It is not a fine finish so I have never noticed and had to look closely in the right light. I can feel it as well. Thanks for calling Ruger and confirming what it is. I am not worried about it either. Last thing I want them to do is exchange this fine shooting rifle!

You're right. Ruger is charging what the market will bear. At this point they're producing numerous iterations of the 1895 in .45-70, the 336 but only in .30-30 and I think they're producing some model 1894's in .44 Rem mag. I'd like to see them produce the .35 Rem and the 444 Marlin, but I know they never will. Henry chambers a rifle in .35 Rem and Rossi is now producing 444 Marlins in their R95 model.

I recently bought the new Marlin in 44 mag, great gun. However, what's sad is on Marlins web site the 30-30, 44 mag and 357 mag all MSRP for 1,279.00. I have seen them sold on gun broker for over 2,300. for the 30-30. Taking about price gouging and taking advantage of the situation! Would love to buy the 30-30, but refuse to be ripped off. And just for the record, the 30-30 is the only one being sold for way over. My 44 mag was under 1,000 at academy.

I think that the Marlin 36-336 is the best of the 30-30’s with the exception of the Savage 99. The Savage is capable of firing and holding Spitzer bullets in its mag. The 336 can also but only as a 2 Shot. While l will always love the 336 the 99 which was designed in 1899 is just a bit better and a touch more accurate in my mind.

Hello sir, You have done a phenomenal review on the Tx22; you spoke very humbly, and very candidly. I like the 22LR, mainly because there no recoil, which means quicker follow-up shots and the ammo is very inexpensive. I'm considering one (22LR) for concealed carry and home defense. And, like you say, rimfire cartridges are known for light primer strikes. I believe CCI Mini Mag is probably the best 22 ammo on the market. I am thinking that a high quality, well designed pistol such as the TX22, and I also like the Smith & Wesson 22LR M&P, (very well made) along with ammo like CCI, I really believe there won't be any issues with like primer strikes, FTF, and other issues. I used to own a S/W 22LR M&P; I shot CCI Mini Mag 36gr and put more rounds through it than I can recall with zero malfunctions whatsoever; I mean it functioned so well, I was almost in unbelief. But I have to admit, it scares me when I read or hear about the 22 cartridge being unreliable, because it's just the nature rimfire ammo. I can't help thinking of a worse case scenario where I need to draw my pistol and pull the trigger only to hear a click. The reason I want to go with the 22LR is because I am recoil sensitive and secondly, 9mm ammo for me is expensive. Sorry for such a lengthy comment.

@@johnthompson3377 don’t be sorry. I don’t mind long comments. Let me say this to you .22lr is somewhat unreliable but it’s better than a sharp stick. If 9mm isn’t an option then go with what is.
