Personally I’ve never had to change pilot jets when installing pod filters. The pod filters don’t let any more air in at idle than a stock airbox, and even if there is a slight need to bump up the pilot jet size, you can usually get away with giving the mixture screw 1/2 or 1 turn out

@@zorroblings6886 there’s a massive jump to be honest. It’s more the unbalanced air too but theK&n do let more air in. I’ve tried without rejetting but the results don’t work unfortunately

Just curious regarding your axle sizes... Do you remember what those are? I'm working with a 750 and lordy is it hard finding spoked wheels for these ducatis
@forthebold3 күн бұрын
@@runcoltrun it’s the original axle size (can’t remember right now, maybe 19mm) as there was before but a very complex way of mounting a Yamaha XS hub with a custom made sprocket to match the tooth pattern of the chain. It would be easier but a lot more expensive to find spoked versions meant for this bike.
@runcoltrun3 күн бұрын
@@forthebold I figured. I was looking for more footage of the mounting process but I didn't find any in the other videos. Any chance you have notes, sketches, or perhaps some CAD files of the spacers / brackets? The XS hubs look incredible. Jonich wheels are the only other alternative but can't justify putting down a second mortgage for wheels lol!

I must have missed something. I remember when cafe racers were designed to go fast and look fast. Modified engines, exhaust, clubmans, drag bars or clip-ons, weight reduction, possibly some foam removed from the seat. Now it seems to mean remove the side covers, cut the rear fender off, and knobby tires. I like your bike, but why the knobby tires? Is it a scrambler? A flat tracker? Can it even go 100?
@forthebold5 күн бұрын
@@wayne3340 as with everything a style evolves and tastes change, and this movement is more about self expression. If you want to go fast there are far more stock options available but it’s still keeping the spirit of garage customisation going

Hi, nice job on this one. I have a 1998 monster and would like to get wire wheels too. Did you have to make some adaptations ? And what was the price for the pair ? Thanks and well done 👍🏽

Yo, where'd you get those tires and rear shocks... I've some just like em but they're on amazon, and I'm willing to bet they're junk... I don't if I really wanna trust Amazon with bike parts..

You forgot to mention when using Pods not to block the Vacuum port and air duct on those CB750 Carbs !
@fortheboldАй бұрын
If you’re using decent pods e.g k&n they will be specifically designed for those and not block them. Any pods you need to modify I would steer clear of.
@ClassicRiderАй бұрын
@@forthebold Thanks to the reply - I modified the ones when rebuilding my wifes Carbs CB750 81 Custom, and for my 1979, I use a POD that does not block that area. The 81 has original pipes in excellent condition, and the 79 I use a Delkvic Header. Both Bokes have 102 jets as mains- both have good torque at 7000-9000 RPM in 5th. btw: be alert to the fake collars that connect the carbs to the intake ports. Only use the OEM ones -
