It was the army and the marines fighting for it that kept the A10 from being decommissioned. The command is just always looking for the new toys, new weapons, not the upgrading the older designs. It's the ground pounders that kept this plane flying and they deserve the credit for it. Those ground troops are right! I can easily see that and so can anybody paying attention to this. For the ground troops this plane is the main plane that saves troop period! Trying to flex another plane into this role is crazy in my opinion(which doesn't matter) and in thousands if not millions of troops opinions(that matters alot). Don't F with what works unless you are making it better! Don't put in a maybe or might can do to replace a can do, when you are talking about saving US military troops lives. Don't gamble against what has proven to work.

I think i heard and seen this or something similar fly over Cumbria in the UK tonight. It’s absolutely huge but makes very little sound. I only heard it because I was staying in my caravan. Jumped outside and seen it once it had passed. Extremely long and quiet even tho it was very close to the ground

The a-10 just has a body style that is iconic. Much like the planes of ww 2 and the f-4. Not to mention it's the best at the job it does. I've heard the A-10 is a gun with a plane attached.
