I used to sell these alarms. First, before you have smoke, you have heat. These alarms are the best there are. They save lives!!! The smoke detectors work if you have a trash can something hot is accidentally dropped in. The Vulcans ring for at least 30 minutes and are louder than a school alarm: imagine that up close inside your home. They are purposely made with a spring, rather than electrically activated, because in a fire, electricity may go off. It's even possible an electrical short may be the cause of a fire. Call the company in Sacramento and they can hook you up with a local distributor. DO let the distributor come out and explain these to you. It is important that you know what to do if you have a fire, as well as ways to actually PREVENT fire in your home. This is NOT about a "sales pitch", but rather properly protecting your family!!! These people DO Care!!!

I know this is an old post with part 2 not available. If you are trying to get that keyboard reassembled here is a tip. Once ya got everything together with the assembly upside down, the circuit board orientated to the top left, and all the little spring assemblies nestled in place carefully place and align that brass colored metal plate (the one you took off taping with a hammer) with the notches slightly in front of the tabs use 8 or so of those spring loaded finger clamps placed just to the right of the tabs to hold the plate down. While still upside down place the edge of the black colored part that holds the spring assemblies against the edge of a table/desk etc. Then GENTLY tap the right edge of the bottom plate with a hammer. BOOM---done. It does help to get the wife involved to either hold the assembly or do the tapping.

Incorrect, there's another Western movie where the term "lying dogfaced pony soldier" is actually used, I think it's a John Wayne movie.

The Correct name for these Knives is the U.S. Mark 2 Combat Knife. Most of these from WW2 up until the mid 1970's that were made on U.S. Gov. Contract were made by Camillus Cutlery Company. ka bar only had one small contract during WW2 to produce these knives for the U.S. Military. ALL Post WW2 Mark 2 Combat Knives were made by Utica, Camillus, Conetta & Ontario There were NO Mark 2 Combat Knives made on Gov. Contract by ka bar after 1945

Afternoon... I'm wondering if any of the chemical "Rust Removers" might help with the residual corrosion left on your blade, and do you ever finish up with a good waxing? Thanks...

P.S. Have you ever tried "Nevr Dull," wadding - or even "Flitz" with the GREY colored grade of Scotch Brite for light rust/discoloration on a blade? (Red, or active rust, that is - and not the "Black" rust.) Enjoyed watching, thanks and take care...

For your frog, the stiff/hardened leather - doing conservation work on leather, animal hide book covers, etc. I use the product call "Pecards," the "Antique Leather" type. Lightly applied with your fingers over a course of days - you might find some satisfactory results. I'm currently using it on the brass wire wrapped leather grip on an 1864 light cavalry sabre where the leather has dried... it's otherwise in very good condition. After several light applications the leather should be maintained for a very long time. Some of their products also will not "Darken" leather like mink oil, neatsfoot, & so on...

Nope, Camillus won the ww2 contract, Ka-bar, Pal, and Robeson made them using Camillus blueprints due to war demand, the name ka-bar became a slang for them, it was a 1219, B,C, or D, or a MK2, so it was easier to refer to them as Ka-bars,

Our family heard about the Dominator and made the trek from the South Bay the first day. I was 4 1/2 years old and went with other family members to the edge of a cliff and looked down. The Dominator was still under its own power. Truly a remarkable sight to behold for a young guy that I was. It was a tremendous experience to witness a beached ship so close to home.
