Great review, I like what the 890 offers but for almost the same money with a few hundred to a 1000 miles you can get an R model, could you do a comparison review at some point?

this camera angle is not ideal. please always mount the camera to your helmet, not your chest. 90% of the screen is the bike taking up the screen. this is unwatchable.

I hwve one picked up lat week and coming from a cb650r i find this a better bike, that engine is not like the ho4net which is vibby and all top end, but super for our roads, calm and can be pushed if needed

It's certainly a lovely torque rich engine, as I found on a test ride of the 8S. I'll wait until Suzuki bring out a more road-focused version with cast wheels, tubeless tyres and a 19" front wheel before I trade up from my trusty DL650. You could probably count the number of UK owners taking this bike off road on one hand, so the 21" front wheel, spokes and tubed tyres seem a bit pointless to me. Hey ho!

Agree 100%, no one is taking this thing off road and a cast wheel model is good on gravel roads etc. Add cruise control and 17-19 cast tubeless wheels and a bigger windscreen and they'll sell like hot cakes.

Hey, Love this bike and this review. I'm very tempted to buy this bike but I have some reservations about it. Hoping you have a few minutes to help. I'm a returning biker, of sorts. I grew up around bikes as my dad had them, my buddies in my teens and early twenties had them, I had a moped and rode it for about 7 years. I'm now in my early 50s and I want to get a real bike. I got my license a few years ago. I realize a smaller learner bike isn't totally necessary for me as I have some experience. I'm also not so sure about a midweight as I don't want to get bored too quickly. I'm looking for a bike that I can re-acquaint myself with riding, get used to pretty quickly, and grow with. A 'one and done' bike. My question to you is: would this bike fit this category?

It's an excellent bike to ride, the engine is torquey and pulls nicely through all gears, the chassis feels nimble despite being a large adventure bike, with a big front wheel, you can really muscle it around corners. It's stable and confidence-inspiring, even at higher speeds, overall it's easy and a joy to ride.

Nice! With your pipe and fuel injection system remapping, the 690 really becomes a different and more fun to ride animal. I have a '23 701 Enduro with a Yosh slip on, O2 sensor delete dongle and a PC6 with Rottweiler's map, and it is just stupid 😆

I am thinking a lot about this bike, I avoided these kind of bikes because I use what ive got. THAT means ill either crash and die or lose my license and have by bike impounded for excessive speed, Now that I got that out, I better not get one of these.

@@rm25088 7,750 KM now. I like the bike :-) I wanted power , I got it . The quickshifter is silk smooth and put a big smile on my old face every time I pass slower cars ( Happen a lot ) 😁Watch out the front wheel, it get pretty light under hard acceleration 😂

No bike manufacturers can satisfy all the needs of riders so best is look for a bike that has the most which you like to hv in a bike and live with the omissions in the bike.
