are brain dead organ doners given full general anesthesia for the organ harvesting surgury, just like the rescipients are?

I thought it was because of blood being carried away from the heart through arteries, it doesn’t make sense to push meds through blood being carried away? Idk, that’s just what makes the most sense to me.

During COVID I experienced chest and neck trauma that not only made my symptoms worse but created a pneumatic fistula in my neck and right lung. Ive seen every specialist in Philly and despite my efforts have been told the hole in my lung is a pulmonary bleb. Its evident it is a persistent air leak in scans but they still refuse to close it. As result of the leak Ive had multiple CSF leaks in my spine next to the leak. Ive uploaded several videos on my page and made every effort to heal but without the bleb being treated, a chest tube or needle decompression i will continue to suffer. :( As a paramedic of over 30 years you would think they would listen to be but no matter what I say or do they wont close the hole. Im tempeted to give myself a pneumothorax so they give me the chest tube which will save my life and return me to normalcy.

Yuuuck. You're a saint, but you shouldn't have to do that. No one should have to clean up those types of messes after they've worked hard in school to educate and better themselves. I just learned that I might come into contact and have to deal with "code brown" a couple times a year in a medical field that I thought was safe from of all revolting situations. I literally have a severe phobia about that sort of thing and can't/won't not help clean a disgusting mess. I wouldn't ask anyone to do it for me either; I refuse to go out like that.

What about just being a patient, how do you report doctors in appropriate behavior rudeness?

Hi, I work in Med Device manufacture and I have a question about Y injection sites. Does it make a difference whether the the location of the needle port is on the main line or the branch of the Y. If you look at the first image of the video the part labeled "Port" has a main line from the secondary bag while the branch is on the Primary bag. Maybe it doesn't matter in that application. But for an injection site it becomes a trap. Does it affect flow? What do you see most in the field. Thanks for the video.

I am a health care aid in a hospital and all of the charge nurses are great except for this one who refuses to help and talks in a belittling tone to me. I work very hard. Answer all of the call lights. I made a suggestion on how best to move a bed and she must have had her ego bruised by that. I do have 25 years where she has 5. To make a long story short she went to the higher up nurses with a list of complaints about me. So I told the higher up nurse how she was always angry and belittling. She made her own mess and opened up a can of worms for herself.

I see the patient as ill. But how do you deal with rude nurses? For me, this is much worse than rude patients because the nurse is apparently not the ill one.

A former police officer - when bored one shift, we (a whole bunch of 18-20 year old police officers, mainly girls) have discussed the weirdest ways people have tried (or have succeeded) to commit suicide. We had some very interesting and graphic ones on there 😅

If nurses & police officers had the same happy hour group, one can only imagine how dark the humor would be on a regular basis.

Ahh, I was hoping you would have a short on this! I just had my 2nd pneumothorax in 1 month caused by bullae/blisters bursting, both requiring chest drainage. For some reason they didn't want to operate on it after the 2nd one, which kind of baffled me Love your channel ☺

Super interesting! An example of pleural drainage for pneumothorax/hemothorax would have been cool to see tho ☺ Edit: Just noticed you have a separate short on pneumothorax showing x-ray examples!

I'm a clinical dietitian. We talk about our stool at lunch ... almost every time. Like patients are so embarrassed when you ask them about their poop. But I wanna know. Please tell me more about how many times you go. What colour is it... and how about your pee. They get embarrassed, and for us, it's the most normal thing to ask.
@CristinadelaFuenteBSNRNАй бұрын
