Thanks for the shoutout. I’m a SN that works as a PRN float tech. You hit the nail on the head. Tech/CNA before becoming RN should be a requirement. I have learned so much and gotten 100x more clinical experience than other SNs in my cohort. Also I know which floors are good, which are 💩 shows, I have directors who are tracking my progress in school. Recently, as a PRN Clinical tech I was awarded a DAISY award and Clinical Tech excellence award, which I hear are extremely rare for PRN staff. My director seemed supper excited when it happened. I always love the love my RNs give me when they see me, and even more when they teach me something new or let me do small little extra stuff.
