I believe the interval was 10 seconds and after two weeks we had a ton of footage to speed up. A capture a minute would have been sufficient. However, it's better to have too much footage than wishing you had captured more.

Just curious if you have a "Master" list of suggested time intervals? I have a CO2 laser and have a master list for the speeds and power percentage that's a great reference to look to when I'm using my laser with my students. It would make the problem solving of video capture with the Afidus much easier.

Connection issues are typically resolved quickly. Within your network selection window, is the ATL network locked in the top position? If not, you likely have a password issue. The default password is either "87654321" or "12345678." Please forget the network and try each password. Weak batteries could be a factor, establishing and maintaining a wi-fi connection requires a good power supply. If you continue to have a connection issue, we are happy to help, please email [email protected]

@@devildazai When the LED is solid green your camera is essentially a wi-fi hotspot. Selecting the ATL network establishes a wi-fi connection between your phone and the camera. When setting-up the camera, you don't need access to other networks or cellular data. Once the camera is recording, the wi-fi network closes and your phone will revert to normal use. I will admit, I am somewhat confused, your first message stated, "I am unable to connect to my camera" and the follow up mentions, "my phone cannot be on Wi-fi at the same time it is connected to the camera."

My camera keeps saying check your battery and won’t allow me to record. I’ve changed batteries with brand new ones and different types and it still doesn’t work.
@TimeLapseCameras Жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear of this issue. The camera does not have a "check your battery" notice. If you are referring the LED flashing red it indicates a few things which require immediate attention. Your batteries could be low, the SD card may be missing, in the wrong format (FAT-32) or full. With the camera app open, if your batteries were low the battery level indicator would be at 2 or 1 bars. If you card is missing or in the wrong format, there would be a red X over the card icon in the app. If your card is full you would see the free space/full status within the storage notification in the upper left of the main app screens, the info screen and the Settings menu. If you deleted files from your card and it still shows as full, please reference this documentation, forums.sandisk.com/t/sd-card-was-full-but-had-no-data-on/35558 If you need further assistance, we are happy to help, please reach out to Josh at 01-507-884-0070 or [email protected]

Was the Camera recording outside in the cold all that time with a set of batteries? Or was this recorded with the camera inside the warm building looking at the thermostat outside through the glass? I just need to know if this camera is able to work outside in extreme weather and if so how low of a temperature can it handle? Thanks
@TimeLapseCameras Жыл бұрын
Tony, great questions. We are in frigid Minnesota which appears to be a little south east of you. This video was shot with both the camera and thermometer outdoors on our deck, for 53 days during extremely cold temps. The camera was running Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries. Alkaline batteries don't perform well below 20°F (-6°C). If you know temps are going to be below 20°F for an extended period, Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries are your only option. Keep in mind, this is an electronic device outdoors, in the cold. If workers aren't working, due to the cold, presume your camera may be taking some time off too. Once it warms a little, check your camera status. If you have further questions, please send us an email, info @ timelapsecameras.com. I hope this helps, Josh.

The AVI format is no longer supported by many devices, applications and programs (Windows, iOS, QuickTime, Adobe, etc). Converting each file to MP4 or MOV is a cumbersome but effective option. There may be a codec which makes AVI files playable. VLC Player will play AVI files and Wondershare Filmora is editing software which has retained AVI compatibility.

Marko, sorry to hear of your issue. I tried to locate your order(s) and I couldn't find anything under your name or three cameras shipped to Croatia. Not knowing the model, serial numbers, firmware version, initial configuration and included documentation, somewhat limits the help I can provide. Here are a few suggestions, if you need further assistance, please reach out to your retailer. If you have an IDX file matching the name of an unreadable MP4 file, the IDX is a repair file generated from an abrupt shutdown of your camera. Most often this is due to opening the battery door when there is an active recording. If you have the IDX and MP4 file on the card, replace the camera batteries, reinstall the card, and turn the camera on, this will finalize the MP4 and the IDX file will disappear. If you have removed the files from the card, Afidus can repair the file quickly with a very high success rate. With your capture interval of 5 or 10 minutes, your camera should have recorded for two months without issue. Initial battery strength is the biggest factor contributing to an unexpected recording stop. Rechargeable and discount batteries are not recommended and previous use of other batteries, would be a factor. Your cameras have a log file in the root SD card directory, this file retains a record of your camera configuration, performance and is a good reference for troubleshooting. If you need further assistance, we would be happy to help, please send your log file(s) to [email protected]

I know this camera is meant to be waterproof, but I was interested to know if there was any housing available, or in planning, similar to the Brinno waterproof ATH2000? I have 10 of the Afidus ATL-200s cameras on-site locations in the UK and some are in awfully harsh environments, so I have had to adapt the Brinno housing for the Afidus and make it fit (not easy). A bespoke housing would be ideal. Any suggestions? Security is also an issue, so a method of really securing these cameras and making them as theft-proof as possible would also be a consideration.

This is a very unique Advanced PRO level request. Congratulation on a great request. Using the Afidus App you can program the interval set to every 5 minutes for the duration you want. Thus, it would capture either a section of 30FPS every 5 minutes in standard Time Lapse Recording mode. You would have to Stop the camera recording then adjust the interval to 10 minutes etc for your needs. Alternatively you could use the Video Lapse Recording mode and capture a live burst ranging from 3-10 seconds spanned at an interval of your choosing. In your case 5 minutes or 10 minutes, etc. We say Advanced PRO level because you are asking for one programming session to cover multiple internal settings. This has not been created yet by Afidus. For more information on Video Lapse Recording mode is covered extensively here www.afiduscam.com/post/video-lapse
