Great vid thank you. Is it true that the sauna helps with this process of MPS?
@areyoufat-makingorcalorie-804110 ай бұрын
I have read that but I don't subscribe to it. Saunas can dehydrate some people, and muscles have 75% water content. And even if it did, it is simply not enough when compared to the hypertrophic affect of lifting progressively heavier weights in the gym. If you think it is a substitute, I believe is not feasible.

What do you think about skipping?
@areyoufat-makingorcalorie-804110 ай бұрын
Well, most certainly rope skipping is a great exercise. Especially for your heart muscle (cardiovascular benefits), bones and general flexibility. It uses a lot of joints which is great. That said, you must add weight lifting to challenge the muscles with more stress than usual.

So question, does that mean the unfit person should not do long bouts of cardio to avoid losing muscle? does that change when you add weights to cardio (i would presume not but thought i'd ask)?
@areyoufat-makingorcalorie-8041 Жыл бұрын
Sorry about not responding earlier, just seeing this now. OK, the reality with cardio exercise is that you need oxygen to break down fat for energy. If there is insufficient oxygen, then the body has to get energy (oxygen) from somewhere. That's when it turns to stored carbs (glycogen) in muscle tissue to get that energy. Unfit people are just not oxidatively fit and so they can't use respiratory oxygen for very long. Additionally, an unfit body will cause increased cortisol stress hormones and they are fat-producing!! They should build up more muscle, which translates into more energy-producing mitochondria in their cells.. Also the myoglobin protein, which moves oxygen from your bloodstream into your muscle tissue, is increased through anaerobic weight-lifting exercise. LIft weights 80% of the time, and od cardio 20% of the time (do the cardio after weights so that you have more energy to lift heavier). HIIT works well to help stay aerobic on cardio machines. Hope this helps!! Bev.

Yes, often they do appear older. But that is not because their bodies have aged. It's related to the fact that they have a much lower body fat percentage which leads to less facial fat!
