Some skills can discard other skills when used (using S2, S3, defend skills discards the lowest/highest ranked skill in the chain) to get insight that buffs attacks (higher insight the better, so discarding S3 early is the way to go) The evade is there to ensure that no skills get discarded and reset the insight (you can't discard defensive skills)

With dieci hong lu what you want is to have him at insight 3 (which is a huge power up, esp. at uptie IV) as soon as possible by discarding his s3 ability (in a chain, the ability discarded is picked among the ones you don't attack with). Since egos and defensive skills can't get discarded, you first put dodge in all his slots but the one with the s3 to make sure he discards that skill, and then you simply keep putting dodge in all his slots to ensure that his insight doesn't change from 3.

nope. its basically an "on demand" skill, it doesnt have unbreakable coins. the only difference to an actual skill is that it will NOT activate unless it is specifically clashing against an attack (so you cant attack a staggered enemy with a clash counter). the same is true for Wild Hunt, except during horse form and above 15 sp, he'll just use his s4 (the clash counter mechanic still apply. so you cant activate the s4 counter unless you're clashing.)

I didn't use it in the beginning because I wanted him to gain SP first. After Turn 3 I start using the Defense Skill and it was also more comfortable because he had 2 Skill Slots by that turn.
