What an awesome lesson. I am always looking for some new chord embellishments to prolong my playing without sounding redundant but still staying within the same scale progression.

Always loved Larry’s approach here and you did a nice job of explaining it. As for going “too far out” Larry talks about turning a dial and getting more or less outside as he plays. Remember you need not play the entire triad or scale but borrowing notes from the further harmonies is a good way to get that outside sound the pros use. Great job.

Is there a way or a program when I have a sheet with the absolute chords (e.g. C, F, G⁷, ...) that it translates and substitute them to the numbers so that I can train myself to play by numbers?

Dear Sir, First of all, thank you very much! Such a kind and generous human being you are! ❤️🎸 Right now, I'm referring to your pdf... And, I wanna ask why the notes to em chords aren't notated on the staff clef (except the first group of measures explaining the "verse")... Thanks a lot! 🙏💌
@GuitarGatheringАй бұрын
Thanks for the question. I'm not sure I know exactly what you are asking but here are a few things. An E minor chord has notes that are... E-G-B. For an Em7, the notes are E-G-B-D. Every example after the first one is written in slash notation. So, the slashes represent the length of time the chord is in effect. You can play whatever rhythm you want with the chords. The reason why I didn't continue writing the melody out in standard notation after the first time is because the melody doesn't change and I was primarily illustrating the movement of the chords. I hope this helps. Learn all you can! - Steve
