Thanks a lot, very well explained so if we start from the 2nd degree i.e. D the major scale formula will be followed i.e. WWHWWWH ? and same for other modes or degrees of C Major ? also what chords in each mode ? also #s and bs are included in the modes Right ?

Hi, what is holding your guitar in place in the same position with no guitar strap?

Much to the frustration of my producer/wife, I moved my guitar up on my leg so that I could easily reach higher up on the neck. I'm just balancing it on my leg. This is how I practice so it's a very comfortable position for me.

At 3:09 you mentioned "it doesn't have the 3rd in it", which is true if you call it a C69, but make the A note the root, and you have the root, minor 3rd, minor 7th, and 11th, so an Am11. If you want to build this chord on 3rds, you have to call it an Am11, but if you want to use it as a 1 chord, then it has to be a major chord, so you'd call it a C69, which is what you are doing here I know, LOL. Just wanting to point out another way of looking at it. I like to think of a minor 11th chord as a type of chameleon, it can be used in so many places, and there's so many ways to play one.

Yes, wonderfully said. What I'm having fun with is the idea that a chord shape (collection of tones and relationships) can be a specific chord when it is in one place. But the same chord shape can function as a related chord to the original when put in a new place. And in that new place, the specific tones and their relationship to the original chord change but in a complementary way.

How do I keep the guitar from moving around while I play. I spend most of my energy trying to keep the guitar in one place. Love your technique and teaching methods.

I just started watching this for the first time. Apparently, it was done a decade ago. But if you go to the Fender Fullerton Museum, now you will find the prototype 53 strat, that Robb Lawrence and myself found and purchased. It's the same guitar shown with Leo Fender that Richard Smith got pictures of. I don't think i'm able to put pictures up.

All that guitar talent wasn’t enough … then he had to start singing! Wow! What a God given talent. There’s players, then there’s players that god reaches out and touches. So glad I watched this today. 👍 🙏 Thanks so much.

Great Tip Steve 👍 😂Thank you 😊 . This fits perfectly with your last lesson on Swing Feel. Sometimes I think the language of Jazz terms like 'enclosure' scares people a bit, but when it is explained like this it becomes simpler to understand.

That would be 'The Wind and the Wheat'. 'Beyond Nature' surpassed these exploits. Ever humble, Phil carried on. Randy Stonehill was more flamboyant and dear to my heart, despite his goofiness, but yeah, this kicked off the Phil as Serious man era for me. Good times.

Keep on rocking Tommy. I’m 73 and the guitar is my savior. I’ve beaten carpel tunnel syndrome in both hands now I have trigger finger in my right hand ring finger, bugger! Hasn’t stopped me from picking up the guitar as much as possible. I agree with your logic, eat well, stay healthy that’s the trick. Cheers mate, Ren 👋👋🎸🎸
