Well hell man! Throw a Het Set and a Floyd in er and let it rip tater chip. Im gonna quote Morrison “some of my biggest mistakes were haircuts”. I cant believe you cleaned the fingerboard. That was some Robert Johnson Deal at the Crossroads dust Man. Im just joking Man. She is quite a find. Something to pass on to your youngens some day.

the difference is one capacitor not working as well in the "right" spot for you. is my guess.

Really good point about the action being a pretty important element. I agree. I've been experimenting with my action lately and the guitar with the high action right now, it just sounds closer. Especially when you rake the strings and stuff like that. I do not have a light touch and so the lower action - way easier for me to play - but the clarity or something isn't there. The higher action sounds more rustic lol (don't know how else to describe it). Thanks for the video. I usually roll my eyes when people say 'tone is all in the fingers' but in this case, his style and his hands really were responsible for most of the sound. I still think people can get "his tone" but it will never sound the same for that reason. And that's the beauty of it, it's cool to hear how everybody sounds differently. (Even when they're trying to sound the same hahaha)

There's a bit of talk at the moment about Alnico pickups losing their magnetism and therefore becoming quieter over time. Is that true?

Yesterday I’ve changed the blue alnico speaker of my original 65’ deluxe reverb into a canabis speaker , I couldn’t believe my ears , so much better , bite and warmth all together , the breakup is still around 3 and i wished i had a bit more head room

The heavier the guitar the more sustain it will have. 8 lbs is not much try a 1982 Gibson mahogany neck through body like the firebrand Les Paul that will sink into your shoulder. Yet it’s sound & sustain make up for it.

Nice save, dude! I still need to know where you got it! I refinished a blond Tele in a rustic barn caster finish with roasted maple neck, and added a humbucker in the middle position so it is a custom killer axe - in homage to yours. Barn wood, roasted and black and chrome hardware.......it's great!

I watch this channel for a while. Then I don't. But particular always wind up watching it again later. I like the music. I wanna like strats but I'm not really that guy. It's the noisy pickups and poor bridge/no locking nut that keeps me away. There for a particular type of music to me. Sort of like a Gretch 6120 is for a particular type of music. They sure work for this guy.

I own a Fender Deluxe Reverb Tone Master. Under the suggestion of Phil McKnight, I took out the junk Jensen speaker and put in a Celestion Creamback. I love it. If I got this Super reverb amp, the first thing I would do is put in Celestion G10 Creambacks. (or if I sold my kidneys, I could maybe afford the 10 inch Celestion Gold amp speakers.

Nobody can truly replicate a Dumble. He had goop on components to hide stuff and even if he didn’t, those amps were voiced individually for the player who ordered them. So the whole dumble replica thing is basically a good clean head room amp. That’s all. Still sounds good but don’t think you are buying a budget “Dumble”. You’ll get pretty good results buying something like a vintage Fender.
