My sister and I grew up with most of these shows. It sure does bring back a lot of memories. We didn't watch it much in the late 90s, and we didn't watch it in the early 2000s, since we were getting older, but we were there in the beginning. Thanks for this trip down memory lane.

Cancelled holiday special The success of Tin Toy gained attention from Disney CEO Michael Eisner and Walt Disney Studios chairman Jeffrey Katzenberg, who approached Pixar to produce a computer-animated film. In the early 1990s, Pixar began to make arrangements with Disney to produce the first computer-animated film. The project went through, but considering the abrupt transition from shorts to feature a few minutes to an hour and a half, Pixar set out to create a special half-hour to see if they could manage a production that was similar to that of an actual film. Driven by the victory at the Oscars that year, a sequel to Tin Toy called "A Tin Toy Christmas," was originally planned as a half-hour-long television special to be used to convince film studios that Pixar was capable of producing a feature film. This idea was brought to the table at the initial talks with Disney for Toy Story. The basic idea was that Tinny was part of a set of toy players who are not successful and remain unsold for years. Separated from other components, Tinny ends up by mistake in a toy shop of our age where he meets several characters, including a soft pink bear named Lotso. The project was abandoned because the television network that would have produced the film could not afford the fees required (according to director Pete Docter, the special would have required a sum of eighteen times higher than the allowed budget). Disney was uninterested in the concept and urged Pixar to produce a feature immediately, which became a critical and commercial success. The character of Lotso, however, was adapted for the third installment of the Toy Story series as the main villain. Tinny himself makes a cameo in Toy Story 4, appearing when Woody and Bo Peep enter a pinball machine to meet Duke Caboom.

When I saw that the third Pokémon movie was on this list, my initial thought was "There's no way that's lost media. It's still watchable to this day." Then I watched the part and you talk about T-Rex idea Shudou got when he was high on drugs and that made more sense.

Great video! These forums were the natural progression of playground rumors. It's definitely something I look back at fondly. I'd also say that these rumors evolved into video game 'leaks' that are still being posted on Reddit and Twitter today. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Dude! I was the Director of Animation for Kids' WB for most of the time it was on air. I worked on all the promos in between. (you can see a lot on my channel). Anyway- what an excellent retrospective! I thoroughly enjoyed hearing your stories! Especially the contest winning one- I remember working on those spots and adding in the green logos!! I couldn't help thinking- those poor suckers haha! But seriously- this really took me back, thanks for the memories!

@2:00 you forgot the multicharacter dramas such as Dallas and Dynasty which were really what Lynch and Frost were mining with Twin Peaks. I do have respect for the execs at HBO who just wrote checks and said, "Yes, Dave." Season 3 is one of my experiential high tides.

When I was 8, they had a competition for kids to draw their own Pokemon cards for either the release of Ruby/Sapphire or the start of the Pokemon Advanced season. I remember I sent in my Treecko drawing online I believe, didn't hear back, and then months later was surprised with a package that had a huge inflatable chair with a bunch of Kids WB characters on it, a giant working cardboard radio, a giant working cardboard telephone, and a pack of 5 Pokemon cards that had all of the 5 grand prize winners' drawings. I think I must have gotten a runner up prize because I don't believe my Treecko had been selected as the winner, but still one of the fondest memories of my life if I'm being honest. I had never won anything before, and to know that they had liked my drawing enough to send me a huge prize, as a kid that lived by drawing my own Pokemon characters, was insane.
