@prasutagustheorwellwargamer I love the system, between random activations, units still limited in what they can do each turn (mx 4 activations with increasing penalties), random distance crossed and random events no 2 games are ever the same. I really recommend starting with Hood Strikes North - it's a bit linear but this can be good for starting out, and advanced game omits supply. Also, a 1 mapper so a really good entry point.

Must admit I like the systems using "small buckets of dice", they tend to really average out the extreme luck of few high stakes dice rolls. However, I've lately come to appreciate die rolls with rolls not just on 5s or especially 6s, but also 3s/4s etc - producing more attritional combat and where you don't need to wait for dozens of rolls to see anyone hit. I have this one but yet to play it, really need to get it to the table. Big thanks for the review, as always 😁

I really enjoyed seeing what you've done with Brandy Station. Of course, you can proxy a few Antietam brigade blocks for the Monmouth map. After having but never playing it with the Pub Battles blocks, I find that playing it with the brigade blocks lends a very chess like feel to the game. I play it double blind solo. Meaning I play as if each side only knew what they could possibly know. Not playing to win, but playing to see what happens. I see that IPMatin has already shouted out my channel. Cheerio, my friend.

Thanks for the unboxing 😀 Vol 2 has long been in a production queue and apparently it nears the release now. I've taken a long look at this one before, but decided against it - you can expect to have 3 counters / unit, the extras to track both SP losses and Demoralisations. This may work with GCACW with fewer counters, but can quickly get unwieldy with a game like this. One idea I had was to use home-made blocks to track the strength losses / demoralisations, but then found that there's an excellent online implementation of this game on steam - it's called "Gettysuburg. The Tide Turns". If you've not tried it before I'd urge you to give it a try, it's a fun system 😁

I even did a modified version for barbarossa, it works extremely well. I made my own games ( bautzen, leipzig, etc ) Its a very cheap to make in time, money etc Best thing is: non wargamer love it It looks Awesome, its very easy to play. The "lack of rules" allows for your own story / immersive play ( you dont have to check chhapter 3747 alinea 3737 paragraph 363 tome 2, edition 3.3.3.3.e1 ) Anyway. Is my favorite napolonic system in many levels (operational scale, great components, playable fun & enjoyment). However, for me the system only works when played with an opponent. Dummies and Fog of War are necessary to fully enjoy the system. I disagree that this system is not suitable for purists. In many ways the system and scenarios are beter deveoped than the best known Zucker OSG titles.
