This is one of my favorite Tsunami Bomb songs. I remember hearing it for the first time as a freshman in high school and just falling in love with this band.

How did you get your music on disgaea? I waited awhile for an interview or a discussion about it. I've been a fan for that long. I was in middle school. So your music was a part of my childhood.

So you came up with the song for the game and not after or during? You guys are great.

@@soniczero532thank you! Yeah we all got copies. I did play the game and I did enjoy it! The song existed before the game, it was originally on an EP of the same name that came out in 2000. You’d be surprised what the song is actually about.

@@frankesposito2182 Yes, and this fact was indicated in the OP's comment. Your comment, though, seemed to imply that her not being a member is a good thing, that the fact that she is no longer in the band makes her historical contribution irrelevant. Agent M was great. Though her replacement may have done a decent job, it was Agent M's voice that captured *me* when I listened to them, years ago.

So, I don't hate the new album, but I wasn't exactly blown away by it either. The vocals here definitely don't have that range of emotion that Emily brought, and the band's frantic smashing of notes is undercut by the monotonous vocals. The vocals can definitely work, though, I just don't think they mesh well with the current sound of the band. It's also a bit striking to me that the band so heavily deviated from the progression in their songwriting composition in this lull in activity; it does sound more like generic garage punk than anything new and interesting. Again, not a bad thing, but there's a reason why garage punk is considered a dead end genre, and it's not because anyone is particularly untalented. I haven't given up hope, though! I would love to see another song along the lines of My Machete with Kate doing the vocals. I'll always be a fan, but I couldn't help but get sooooo excited for the new album and I just feel kind of disappointed with the current outcome. Good luck through the future~

Sorry you haven't enjoyed the new stuff yet, but give it time. You might enjoy it when you can enjoy it for what it is. We understand it can be a bit different to hear a new voice at the helm. We are very confident that Kate's voice meshes well with the band, but even she would say that she's still growing. You should check out some of the covers we've done for compilations recently and the 7", I think you'll hear a lot more progression. She's growing fast. For me it's kind of ironic because many of the critiques I see of Kate, are the exact ones that Emily had when she took over as our singer (and look how far she came!). I'm not putting down your opinion, but for me it's very odd because it's very familiar statements (unemotional voice and voice not meshing with the music seriously were commonly said to us about Emily once upon a time). I think that while we are competing with some people's bias, the response of new fans to us now has been very passionate. It helps us be more patient with older fans reactions when they are less positive (but there are plenty of older fans who do like what we are doing now). In regards to the new album, I think that's a fair point. We did feel that it was more important to really try and touch back to the older sounds of our previous albums than to boldly unleash new sounds with a new voice. So if it feels a bit like familiar territory, that's because it kinda is. I'm very proud of it, but it's more of a course correction and a summation, than a bold step forward. Since we had a new lead singer, we wanted people to still hear hints of Invasion, T.U.E, and even T.D.A. in the new album. We wanted the album to feel familiar to people, and judging from most of the reviews, that seemed successful. Now that's been established, I think we all feel better about moving forward. I don't regret doing that, I'm really proud of the new album. I think there are songs on it that in the long run people will come to appreciate. Hopefully you'll like where we go from here. I'm excited about it. I feel like we are being more creative now. Thanks for your thoughtful comment. I hope you come to appreciate what we are doing and appreciate the band as much as you once did. -Dominic

@tsunamibomb56314 жыл бұрын
... No? Myles, It's 100% fact to YOU. YOU are unable to get past a change in vocalist. That's ok. You are just one of those people who the vocals are how you identify a band. It's not hard to get that, I think a lot of people are like that. The thing is, this isn't up to you. It was up to us. We have been a band with Kate as our singer for almost 4 and a half years (that's half the time we were a band the first time around). This isn't a rash decision... it's a reality. We have an album out that has done VERY well. We have another release on its way. We are very happy and plenty of people are having fun along with us. Our shows (when we get to have them) have been AWESOME! Now you don't have to take part in that. You can stay with the three albums worth of material that featured Emily as our singer. They are great albums! We are proud of the work we did on them. You can stick to the KZbin videos that feature line ups with her. You can happily avoid moving along with the band by just sticking to what you enjoy. ...and if you ever come around, or hear a new song that we do that you like, you are more than welcome to come hang with us and enjoy the band as it is now. The only thing is that is 100% fact is that we are Tsunami Bomb no matter if you like it or not, and that you have absolute control over what you choose to listen to. Thank you for liking the band as long as you did. I hope you can enjoy us for what we are now someday, and until then, thanks for enjoying the songs we wrote.
