ATL is the busiest airport in the world because it's also the HQ for the largest airline in the world, Delta. Every day, more than 800 Delta flights depart Atlanta to over 30 countries. That accounts for more than 3/4 of the total departures from the airport. ATL is the biggest simply because Delta is the biggest.

I moved to Utah 3 years ago for school and have been blown away at the quality of its public transit. Before I got a car I exclusively used the bus system to get around. I still use it every day to get to school. Additionally, I hate driving on I-15 and genuinely prefer to use the front runner when I want to go to Salt Lake. Lastly, almost every college in the state provides its students with a free UTA pass.

I love the Trax and Frontrunner system! I live 30-45 minutes from Salt Lake, and most of the time I drive, but if conditions get blizzard-like (which they often do here during the winter) the commute via the freeway can take up to 2-3 hours, whereas Frontrunner is always consistently a 45 minute ride for me! I think the best thing Trax is used for is reducing traffic after Utah Jazz games. There’s a Frontrunner station close to the Delta Center, and a Trax station right in the plaza of the Delta center. It makes it much easier for both cars and those riding public transit to get home.

And whether going to Ogilvie or Union Station, you still can’t readily transfer to the subway system without an outdoor walk of several blocks.

That’s the worst part about Chicago transit in my opinion. Stations should be intermodal hubs. Instead it feels like every man for himself in Chicago.

Trax stations are kept up pretty well, but here you will still get the homeless tweakers causing shit on the platforms and on trains. People feel much safer on FrontRunner than Trax cause of the train host. On Trax there is none so the crackheads do more shit on them. Speaking of shit, they changed the seats to plastic ones cause drunks and homeless tweakers would shit themselves on the seats. I know cause I found one of the shit in seats the fucking hard way. Probably the most nasty things about public transit here is the lowlifes. It's the reason why I am armed everywhere I go.

Definitely an interesting idea! And from my knowledge, this would almost be a transit line of its own kind. Now I do know that especially around the world, many cities with 'major' transit networks have 'orbital' routes. But they are really 'orbital' in that they 'orbit' around the 'core' or 'center' of the network (which usually is the 'center' of the city these systems serve). And it's even more common for larger cities to have parallel lines that go through sections of the 'city/regional center' (as those 'centers' are usually larger as a result) and intersect each other in a network of nodes. But the BLOOP idea seems to be a combination of both: the section between Rosslyn in Arlington, VA (or even from national landing/Regan airport area really) & Union Station is still fairly 'centrally located', while the section across the Potomac b/w NH & Huntingdon is more 'orbital' (they literally are outside of the 'Beltway'), with 2 radial sections closing the 'loop'. I feel like this setup is gonna be rare. But I say let's do it! And speaking of 'orbital' lines & the idea of 'going b/w MD & VA without going into central DC, I do believe another important solution is to finish the purple line, and extend it to VA. (Although I got to say I feel a little pity that they chose to build a light rail instead). Especially, it should extend from the currently planned terminus at Bethesda to Tysons/Vienna area. (Or as I sometimes say, the '9-12' section of the Beltway, from Tysons to Silver Spring, as the traffic of this section is among THE CRAZIEST I've ever seen).

Don't forget to mention that the Mormon CULT runs Utah's government. Basically, the proof of this was when Utah's citizens voted to pass legal weed the Mormon CULT stepped in and THREE days later reversed what Utah citizens voted for. It's rather hilarious cause after all the backlash they made a compromise. Same goes for porn. Mormon CULT passed a law that demanded porn sites to verify users identity. I know for me, I don't want to be identified when I'm watching a donkey show. Fact is the Mormon theocracy controls all aspects of Utah's government. As far as UTA is concerned, they are FAR from being one of the top transit systems. I would contend that California's is MUCH MUCH BETTER. Utah is better than the D.C. trains by far.

I lived in suburban Philadelphia and commuted into the city for many years. For many years I used the former PA Railroad’s Paolo Local. For the same number of years I used the former Reading Norristown Local. Because the PA trains stopped at Suburban Station I had a long walk through the tunnels to my job in the Independence Hall area of the city. The connector is a great improvement.

Last year, I took the Cape Flyer to Hyannis, and @ClassyWhale was on it. He interviewed the kids who were sitting a row or two in front of me for part of the ride (I didn't know who he was then, but since have become a fan). On the way back a few days later, Petru Sofio, a Boston-based pedestrian, bike and transit advocate was on it, thought I didn't recognize him until after the video was posted on his friend's youtube channel, @BostonByRails (I can be seen in the background because they were a few rows in front of me). The prior time I took the Cape Flyer, in 2021, @MilesinTransit and his friend Nathan were on both the train and the connecting Peter Pan bus to Provincetown. They sat right in front of me on the bus and I can be seen in his video, albeit briefly (I didn't know who he was then either, but began following not too long after, and didn't discover the video with me in it until I was going through some of his old videos a few months ago). So, if you ever do a Cape Flyer video, there's a chance I'll happen to randomly be on it, even though I've only taken it three times...
