I wish I had taken a selfie of you, my husband and I so I could post it and say we met an influencer.😀 Just a few thoughts, you might have mentioned why you are wearing your sunglasses, I prefer seeing an influencer while they are inside without sunglasses. Also I would like you to say your name like in life well cruise Ilena. Looking forward to looking at more videos. Thank you

@ I am so happy that you enjoyed my videos. As far as the sunglasses go, I did explain it on one of my videos (the first time I wore them). I have glaucoma and my eyes hurt when I’m staring at the computer screen too long. Not sure if the glaucoma is the reason but the sunglasses seem to help. My name is Pio and maybe I can start saying my name in my introductions. I have changed the name of the channel from Travel Life to Cruise View. There are hundreds of Travel Life Channels and I wanted something more unique like my name 😆. Thank you again for your comment and suggestions. I will be on my next cruise on Feb. 1, on the Sun Princess. I’m excited to do a preview of that one. Happy New Year!

@CruiseviewАй бұрын
I'm going to be on a Panama Canal Cruise on December 6 on the Emerald Princess (19 days to go lol). I'll be posting some videos on that shortly after if you're interested. As far as a transatlantic cruise, I am scheduled for a repositioning cruise in 2025. I have friends who have been on them and they can't stop talking about them. Repositioning cruises are great because they tend to be discounted and visit some pretty unique ports. There are different ones that leave one of the US ports (Miami, Fort Lauderdale or New York) and end up either in Great Britain, Spain or Italy. I'm assuming you would be going in that direction (U.S. to Europe). These cruises take place in mid to late spring. I have a video that gives more information on repositioning cruises. Follow the link if you're interested: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5a0o5SVnb2Cq7c

So how does one find and sign up for these? Is there a special website or does each company have their own way of offering them?
@Cruiseview2 ай бұрын
Great question! I travel mostly with Princess Cruises and I know that their Repositioning cruises are listed under Transatlantic Cruises. Once you look at the ones available, you can see that they are all discounted to various degrees and they only appear at certain times of the year (spring and fall). You may find that other cruise lines do the same. Hope this helps in your search. Good luck and bon voyage.

Looks lovely but looking at early May 2025 - $900 AUD (Aussie $$$) per night it’s definitely not worth it!
@Cruiseview2 ай бұрын
I have heard from others that there are a few hotels, just as nice, within 1 block of the cruise terminal that are cheaper. If I had to do it again, that is what I would do. If you're planning on touring Vancouver area before or after your cruise, and you'll be in a hotel for several days, it might be worth it to find a hotel outside of the downtown area and take a taxi to Canada Place (the cruise terminal).
@gillianhinds36372 ай бұрын
@@Cruiseview I have to admit as Aussie we were blown away by how expensive hotel accommodation in Vancouver is! We have now sorted our accommodation for out three seperate short stays next year. Staying at Coast Coal Harbour the first round then Blue Horizon the next two times at around $350 a night incl taxes. Both hotels come highly recommend, are in the Vancouver CBD and aprox a $10 taxi ride to Canada Place, which is way cheaper than spending an additional $500 per night!
@Cruiseview2 ай бұрын
@@gillianhinds3637 You Know. I just looked it up$900 AUD is about $826. Canadian. That is rediculous. I was there in March/April and I'm sure I paid around $350./night. I guess going there in the summer, the price jumps up. I know that Vancouver is one of the more expensive cities in Canada to live in, but that sounds rediculous to me. I have always lived in the Toronto area and moved outside Toronto when I retired. I stayed at the Royal York Hotel last May in Toronto downtown and paid under $300./night.
@gillianhinds36372 ай бұрын
@@Cruiseview crazy times! We are spending our first two nights late April at Coast Coal Harbour hotel. We would have then stayed there for a night immediately before our cruise for one night on May 2nd but it went from around $350 (incl tax) to $800 (incl tax) per night once it entered May! What a difference a couple of days make lol. So we then booked the Blue Horizon (around $350 per night) for our next three Vancouver short stays. We are so looking forward to this trip - Vancouver, Vancouver Island, Alaska and the Canadian Rockies. Can’t wait!
@Cruiseview2 ай бұрын
@@gillianhinds3637 Sounds like a lot of fun. I hope you have a great trip. My cruise last April was to Hawaii. I’ve never been that interested in Alaska. I guess because I prefer cruising to warmer weather in our winter. I love the snow but not the cold. 😁

@Cruiseview2 ай бұрын
I agree. I had never been to the Vancouver cruise port before so it wasn't just for the view but the convenience. Canada Place hotel is in the same building as the cruise port. Now that I know the area, I would probably book a hotel, walking distance from Canada Place. There are a few that are cheaper. By the way, I wasn't that happy with Canada Place as a cruise port either as I mention in my videos.

The cruise was sold out and there was a large mix of ages. anywhere from toddlers to people in their 80's. I'd say average age group of around 50 to 55. There were not a lot of families with school age children because of the time of year. It was in April and kids were still in school. I have been on a lot of cruises and I have to say that there seemed to be more toddlers on this cruise than some of the Caribbean cruises I've been on.

I can see that if you live in the area and you see the caves all the time they may not seem impressive but if you were a tourist and saw them for the first time as I did, they were impressive and sort of intimidating thinking that fast rising tides might catch you off guard and you could be trapped in there with nowhere to go.
