Hello and thank you for your fantastic videos about Fadel If you still have the guts for it could you make a movie how to set up the fourth /4 axle on a vmc 15.

I dunno if At-Man is still around, or just decided to leave the youtubes and is potentially still doing all of the machining stuff without the video element... but holy crap, along my own journey into the world of cnc/machining at home, the At-Man has always been one of my go-to resources for the best information, even if the original video was made more than half a decade ago. Just wanted to say thanks for putting all of this content out when you did, its phenomenal, and undoubtedly helped myself and a lot of others in similar pursuits. Hope you're doing good, and I know its a long shot, but if there were somewhere that I could purchase one of those sweet "At-Man Unlimited" white polo shirts, I'd be all about that! Thanks again dude! You're a legend among (At) men.

This series was frickin amazing! Im going to build my own vcm with a welded frame filled with granite epoxy, going to aim for a frame weight of approx 400kgs (solid af for a bench cnc), this series will be such an epic guide! I want a highly precise machine, with a max of 0.005mm repeatability, i think its perfectly possible as long as the running gear i purchase is all brand name high quality (c1 ground double nut ball screws, nsk high rpm spindle and motor combined under 1micron runout, precision servos capable of sub micron precision) If i get mating surfaces machined in a shop, scrape em all in and go through the series ensuring everying is 100% perfect! Im pretty sure this machine would be capable of 0.005mm repeatability, which is what i need for watchmaking, prob could get away with 0.008mm, maybe even 0.01mm, because i dont make tiny watches and should be able to get off the ground with 0.01mm repeatability.. Please correct me if im utterly dreaming lol i am super capable, made an excavator from scratch, made half a pocket watch from scratch with no cnc, made a bunch of specialty precision tools to make the watch parts accurate enough to work, etc etc So its not like im some rqndom dude zero engineering experience just watching utube lol Hence why im confident AF i can get it done as long as i get the measuring equipment and running gear is all super high grade for cncs capable of making watches.. Sorry for the long msg, any honest feedback would be greatly appreciated from seasoned vets, constructive criticism 100% welcome!! 😂😂 Thanks!

Building your own machine is probably a great learning experience, for example when you are a ME student, but obviously it's extremely time and labor consuming. If your goal is making parts rather than machines the sensible way to go is buy a (used) machine and spend time fixing the issues it might have.

Sorry for the basic question. What is the benefit of indexable end mills vs regular? Just that they are cheaper to replace the edges? It seems like the geometry would limit evacuation as well as regular, but perhaps I'm wrong.

there are many usb to rs 232 that work fine if you turn off fiffobuffer in windows and set the delay to 50ms then it runs straight through without error,,

I think it’s easier to make a cad drawing with the tolerance to figure out the numbers… 😅 The calculators are for inch anyway. 90% of the rest of the world needs metric.

The tap follows the hole . If the hole isn’t straight the tap will break. As you drill the drill gets dull and the drill walks off center and the tap will brake .

Saludos excelentes videos.

For me with this system meausure nothing if the table is parallel to guide but inclinate both... Because the dial will pass always only from one point from x+ to x-,so the dial will indicate always 0...while if the guide are parallel and the table is twisted is ok the system... If the table is all x or on x+ is normal that on the final the dial increase because the weight is all on one side....

CAT Toolholders:As a major user of machine tools with automatic tool changers, Caterpillar Inc. championed the standardization of steep taper toolholders in North America. These toolholders utilize interchangeable pull studs with imperial threads, and feature a v-groove in the flange for the ATC arms to grip. This groove is why CAT toolholders are occasionally referred to as v-flange.
