That one son was a terrible actor. Comical actually

If you enjoy folk horror, you are likely to enjoy the mood in Starve Acre, and although we wanted a little more range in the performances, it's an odd and creepy chiller.

I've just discovered this movie unfortunately and hadn't heard anything about it before, so I'm so happy to find your review! There's a lack of content about it online imo. I love the storytelling and could talk about it for days. I thought it was so interesting when you mentioned that maybe Preston was catching on to who Jules really was because it had never occurred to me. I assumed that him looking around at Jules' clothes and pictures showed that it was dawning on him that Jules was much more free and open than Preston, and I thought maybe he envied and admired that. He didn't look at Jules' things with disgust the way he did in the beginning either, and that's why it seemed genuinely like admiration to me. Then later he mentions Jules has good style, so I thought that's what he was referring to. In addition he sees that Jules has some supportive and genuine friends, whereas Preston's friends are cruel to him and call it banter, so I imagine he was contrasting that and hoping to widen his friend circle. It made his character more sympathetic in my mind, just thinking of how he might have progressed with the right influences and decent friends. Again, really good review! Thank you. More people should see this film! And I'm crossing my fingers for a sequel! 🤞

Best British film I've seen this year so far. It's very visceral and tactile. We almost needed 'smellovision' to experience this film properly. The director tells the story in a unique way. The performances are excellent especially Saura Lightfoot-Leon as the older Maria.

@BoysOnFilm12 күн бұрын
Despite a phenomenally effective market campaign and huge hype, Osgood Perkins doesn't quite deliver the terrifying horror movie that was promised, but LONGLEGS is a creepy and stylish mood piece. The third act ruined the movie for us!
@CrazyPato19798 күн бұрын
I didn’t watch your video yet. But I just wanted to tell that everything started to fall apart when they changed the point of view from the protagonist’s to the Longlegs’ perspective. I think that knowing only what the agent knew was creating that suspense feeling that falls apart when we start seeing things from other people’s perspectives. The movie lost me there.

Colin Morgan really is one of those few people I truly admire. I haven't watched a lot of his work in all honesty, only clips of it. I can't find anywhere to watch it without subscribing to something, so I've only watched clips of his acting here and there. He's such a good actor... I really like him. Merlin has a huge and special place in my heart and it has had that for the past decade, so I might be just a tiny bit biased, but so far I genuinly love what he does

Never watch "Priscilla" it is a fairy tale from his xwife who was executive Productor and a bunch of Bull. As an Elvis fan since 1956 she and I are the same age. She nearly wrecked Elvis life and her own daughter. Her book and movie is pure fiction. Her own daughter Lisa tried to stop the movie saying it was not a representation of her father and made her mother look a martyr when in fact she Left Elvis for her married karate instructor and robbed him and her daughter of almost every cent they had. I believe Positive Role Model was dropped from the later productions due to the cost of the Barry White sample it was built around. Though frankly they could've just dropped the sample and kept the song. I'm pretty sure I remember a remix that actually did just that at the time. Regarding the book, lets not forget this was coming from Harvey straight off the back of Gimme, Gimme, Gimme, which was hugely successful and really the same kind of trashy humor as this. Though it may not 'pass' today, frankly what does anymore, everyone is offended by everything these days. I seem to remember buses covered with 'It's a disgrace' advertising the first time around, so it was thought of in the same way even back then. We've all been trashy gays at some point in our lives lol While the music is great, the lyrics too are equally as cringey as the book in places...it's great, I'm straight...I'm looking at you. I agree we are yet to find the perfect production of this, hopefully someday someone will take the task on properly and give us the definitive production and tidy up the book and lyrics. Also there was lap dancing in the original production at the Arts, as both myself and my very straight brother-in-law both received one on separate occasions from a very young Louis Spence who bounded off the stage onto us in the front row!
@michaelbolton-aАй бұрын
I really like Positive Role models and its been dropped from all three revivals - I did ask Johnathan Harvey about it and he says in this version it was dropped because they wanted Bille to do the finale song and include all the cast.

Is the sound different and up dated or is it the same versions than before ?

Not entirely sure but the soundtrack they use for the club scenes is different (they use the song 'Vocal'), and the songs have been tweaked slightly.
