WHAT A TREAT!!! Those folks watching and listening really didn't get what they had right in front of them there. Every one of those 'old guy musicians' only looked old. All were secret atomic weapons and I'll bet they LOVED the chance to play with this young man...

I have said for years there is so much more to 1950's, rock n' roll, than, Elvis, but no one seems to notice. This is mind-blowing. I can hardly comprehend what I am seeing and hearing...how does he have a double guitar neck years before, Jimmy Page?! I thought he was either the original or amongst the original from that time period in 1970?! This is so unreal.

Wonder if later in life Larry ever jammed with Ted Nugent?

Two versions of this song...this one recorded 07/56 at The Gold Star Studios and am assuming is the version on the Singing To My Baby LP, (UK but not US) the 45/78 released in The UK in April 57, b/w Dark Lonely Street on London-American/Liberty (and probably every country that L-A released records in too). The second version, the US 45 release on Liberty, (Nov 57, b/w Cradle Baby) was recorded sometime between May-Aug '57 with The Johnny Mann Singers, both versions have a different line up. Both versions are great, but very different, with The US version being only a moderate hit. The JM Singers had a hit in the late sixties with Up, Up and Away (in my beautiful balloon)

Music in 1957 reflected a simpler lifestyle, doo-wop songs telling romantic tales and hep cats jumping and singing their jive. Now music reflects hatred, sexual violence and murder. I wish I could jump into a time machine and go back.
