I'm making a webtoon of my own and your videos are so sooo helpful. Especially the one where you made bg characters into assets. Will try that someday

Wow great job! Backgrounds are so hard for me 😅

Thank you! I have a hard time with backgrounds too, but the perspective tool in CSP has been helping a lot :) Hoping to practice bg's more in the future 🥰

How make background?
@byleahgracie2 күн бұрын
For this comic page I made a basic "Blockout" using objects in Blender! Then i took screenshots of different angles, brought those into CSP, and sketched over them :) I did this to help with the perspective and consistency

That's actually something i'm wondering about when it comes to my various projects, i should absolutely time myself like that and see how long i end up really taking
@byleahgracie2 күн бұрын
I always find that it takes me way less time than i think it does 😅 That being said, this particular day was a particularly speedy timing, because i was super focused due to timing/recording myself. It doesn't usually take this little amount of time. But when i sit down and don't let myself get distracted, it's amazing how much less time i need lol (the trouble is actually focusing and Not Getting Distracted/fatigued--thanks to adhd and chronic illness lol)

I was looking at how to make tree trunks look better, but this was inspiring as well. Always amazing to see what people can do with the same tools.

Again, I must apologize for how long and rambly this video is! I tried to cut out unnecessary stuff lol 😅 Also, let me know in the comments if you'd like to see more studio/artist vlogs documenting how I juggle a day job, working on my webtoon, etc. on this channel? (also 2:11 skips past the intro to the actual content!)

I was watching this video expecting some ridiculous amount considering I use manual rushed sketches for episodic webtoons and it still takes me a generous few hours before I can finish them. I didn’t expect that short an amount of time but I also didn’t realise the amount of shortcuts that could be taken when making a webtoon eg the 3D models
@byleahgracie7 ай бұрын
Honestly I was pretty surprised myself when i counted everything up! I find however, that the time taken on an episode can fluctuate GREATLY depending on my energy and focus levels (when I'm focused like with this episode, i can get a lot done fast, but when my ADHD is acting up it can sometimes take days or weeks to finish an episode!) I also would NOT be this fast without shortcuts, just like you said! Which is why i made that caveat in the video that if I were drawing or assembling BG images myself, either drawing them or doing some kind of asset/photo bashing etc, it would take a considerable longer amount of time!! Even with sketching the characters, I let the 3D models do a lot of perspective and pose legwork, so that it saves me time (or more importantly, a lot of energy, since i have a few chronic illnesses that can make me run out of energy fast)... So I'm always looking for shortcuts or ways to speed up the production process! But like I said, I had it in my head that the fastest i could finish an episode was like,, 15-20 hours of work, so I was kinda shook honestly that I can manage to do it in less than that 😅

Wow! Speedy but still a big investment of time!
@byleahgracie7 ай бұрын
Yes! This episode in particular seemed to be more efficient too bc I was more conscious of staying "on task" and focused due to filming my process 😅 I think when I'm not as focused the episodes can tend to take longer... so there is probably a big range of time that it could take generally!

Apologies that I talk a little fast in this video!! i originally recorded the audio for a reel but it ended up too long for insta so i decided to turn it into a yt video instead 🤗 Also, I'm thinking of vlogging this week as I work on the next episode for my webtoon, as well as work on my new upcoming webtoon I'm starting production on, and wanted to know if any of you would like to see more webtoon-making vlogs in the future? Let me know if so!
