Sorry for how rambly this video got!! I clearly am not cut out to make tutorials haha X) However, if you enjoyed this video and have suggestions for more videos on making webtoons/webcomics or further questions on backgrounds for webtoon/webcomics pls comment below! I actually enjoyed the rambling because it shows that this is not a simple go to process, tutorial wise could upset people because they want quick solutions, but you went through YOUR process, and that comes with troubleshooting etc. which is the reality when it comes to making art, nothing is smooth as butter

Hi! I got Snaptoon for free on Acon3D :) I'd also check out Acon3D's own software, Abler, which is also super cool (and currently free) and super helpful for making webtoons/comics! It's blender based which is super convenient if you use blender :)

Hi! Just starting out in sketchup and I really appreciate you showing your process. I was wondering how do you get the different options for lineart/styles? Mine only has one and I couldn't find any in the warehouse.

Sorry this is late and/or if you've already figured this out! but--I'm not sure about the online version, but in the desktop version of Sketchup there should be a menu you can click on that brings up different categories of styles. There's default styles, "Sketchy edges", straight lines, etc. If those aren't showing up, I think you might need to update or reinstall Sketchup. But generally for me when only one lineart style shows up that means i'm in the "In Model" Folder and I need to open another one through that menu I mentioned. Sorry I can't be of more help!!

*never heard of Snaptoon before this video. Thanks a lot! Unfortunately there is so little info about it elsewhere so hopefully you can help me here... does it support sketchup models at all? : ( is there a way to use them in Snaptoon? or a way to convert them?*

So I use sketchup models (I license them from Acon3D) All the time and Snaptoon *Does* support them, but only if you can export/convert them to datasmith files (bc Snaptoon is basically Unreal Engine i believe). However, there is a handy plugin to do this for Sketchup. In fact, i think if you get Snaptoon from Acon3D the plugin comes in the file package so you don't even have to go looking for it, which is handy! I haven't had too much trouble with converting sketchup files to datasmith and importing them into Snaptoon. However it's not perfect, and sometimes surface details don't translate perfectly, but it's something i personally am willing to deal with. Something I forgot to mention in the video is that Snaptoon is Only for Windows... It's actually part of the reason I got a PC instead of another mac when I needed to upgrade my system lol... Even Acon3D's new Abler software (which is like Snaptoon but uses Blender files instead) is I think primarily for windows users. Also sorry for the long response haha but i hope this helps!!

Oh you don't know how grateful I am to you🤧🤧 you really helped me I will never forget it.😭💓 I really thank you and I hope God will bless your life, but I have a question: can I really use these 3d backgrounds in my story that I am currently drawing, and that is okay even if it is shown in a webtoon. Isn't there a claim for rights, or should I mention the original source, for example! I use the 3d backgrounds on sketchup & snaptoon. Is it really ok?

I would definitely check the terms of service on any and all sites you are obtaining licenses from to make sure that what you intend to do with the items is okay with the rules of the site! But generally these companies are not out to get you, and make it easy to understand how to use their products properly since it's a headache for them, too, when someone does not. Best of luck!!

My current laptop has 32GB ram, and large files do sometimes lag a bit... I generally have to be careful with large files not to have my laptop doing too much at the same time

Which button do you press to change the camera angle? my mouse has the middle button broken and I have no idea ifit is this one or what otchange in the config of CSP

In CSP? There are controls in the OS that allow you the change the camera angle of a scene or object that don't require an external mouse to use. I might make a video soon on using 3D in CSP in more depth, if that's something people are interested in :)

Acon3D has a similar free (blender based) program called "Abler" that I believe is Mac-friendly! It functions similarly to Snaptoon and I often use it as well for my comic!

Hi! I've downloaded Snaptoon and I'm wondering how long does it usually take for the files to load? I downloaded my first file and imported it into snaptoon but it just isn't doing anything when click on it? Thanks.

It really depends on the model itself.... sometimes it can take a few minutes or up to 5+ minutes for very large files.... I find for large files/models i just let it load without doing else anything on my laptop until it's done, that way the software/my laptop won't freeze/etc if it gets "overwhelmed". Alternatively, if you're importing a sketchup file, it can sometimes appear in an odd place, like far away where you have to zoom in or pan around to see. Otherwise, I'm not sure! Hope you found a solution that works for you!

@@byleahgracie thanks! Yes I'm having issues with a SketchUp file. It keeps popping up exactly in the middle axis area and i don't know how to even select it to move it...ended up restarting the entire thing so many times that i gave up.
