Okay, I get the Whale and the Rabbit. But like, isn't the Serpent, just like, pure poison? Like, a magical blob of infection? That's what it looked like in the OVA. Maybe I'm wrong and there's actually a real snake somewhere and the poison is just something it makes (in which case, please don't tell me). But as it stands right now, it's seeming a little bit... inedible. I wonder if Daphne actually planned for everyone to eat the Serpent, or if it was made for a different reason, or if she was just lying about her intentions. Just something that popped into my head watching the episode this time around.

Thank you for your FRESH take on Ram and Rem situation. Fandom ,especially the bigger part who knows only the anime, not the novel version of the story, keeps saying that Ram is now more dependent on Roswaal and loves him more since she lost her sister and all that love she felt for Rem ot transferred to margrave, like these were the same types of love and like it was something quantifiable that has to go some place. But Ram is compeletely diffrent person from her sister. One of the reasons she was serving Roswaal was her sister dependance on him and Ram wanting to assure Rem is safe and happy (happier actually than in Oni Village). Sure, Ram is dependand on Roswaal's mana transfers as well, but that is actually making her hate him for a very long time. Yes, Ram is more free without Rem (which doesn't mean she wouldn't ever chose a world without Rem if she could or didn't do everything to bring her back if she remembered her now, like Subaru does) and maybe even a little less biased towards Roswaal. Their relationship doesn't sit well with fans,because it is...well, it is what it is, so they try to make it diffrent than intended. Anyway, great reaction. IT's grusome episode. You can truly feel weight of what Subaru is going through and how he spirals into helplesness. You can now see how much good he recived before to not give up now, like he gave up before. Sadly, Subaru is hyperfocused on gaining info and kinda forsakeing loops, which means he doesn't try to focus on problems he would if he knew it is his last chance, like Emilia's suffering which should be crucial. Subaru going to the mansion and knowing about massacre completely took him out. Two massacres happenign at the same time is enough to bring him down. And now imagine how much more is happening right now in other parts of Lugunica. If he knew-he woudl try to rpevent it as well and explode... Ach, Echidna, you evil,evil,magic user. What have you done ? It was so interesting hearing how you defend the idea of Subaru trying to go in Emilia's stead. Fans rarely defend that option thinking there was correct choice from the start wghich was leaving Emilia be and do not eleviate any of her suffering,ecause it's treating her like a child and dimishing her growth. So good to hear it's not that crystal clear.

Spoiler free info. 1. It’s described in the novels that the rabbit ate Subaru from the inside out. Unfortunately due to the witch factor he now has increased durability so he kinda survived for a long minute. 2. It’s never clearly stated but the Witches Tea Party and the Sanctuary’s Trials are 2 separate things. Also to be enter/invited to the tea party by Echidna one must have an insatiable desire for an answer/knowledge. 3.i could be wrong, but if irc the reason he was basing his head was because he was trying to get the sensation of being eaten overridden with just blunt force

One other thing about Otto in that moment when he kicked Subaru off the carriage- he’d forgotten Rem. So to him, Subaru just suddenly smacked him full force for no reason, and then claimed the whale was following him. Combined with the madness induced by the white whale’s screams, I actually don’t blame him at all. To his perspective Subaru was the insane one.

Fun fact: apparently in the novel the rabbits enter subaru’s butt 😊

Subaru's breakdown at the end of the episode was done phenomenally! I could feel the anguish and the relief of finally being able to share his experiences with someone else. Echidna had immediately jumped above Emilia for me, only below Rem when this ep aired. :D
