How bad are Umpires when pitched balls in the opposite batters box is called a strike?

Angel only called half a season and still had the worst call of the year 😂

Pitch challenge needs to come to the MLB or a robot behind home plate it has really been a shit show with the umpires!

Those were not bad calls. They were both plenty close enough. That stupid box does not mean sht. The umpire was doing fine. People need to quit whining and swing the fkn bat. Especially that strike 3. Dude should have been swinging.

Mets booth again with the clown analysis. “Managers cannot be thrown out because of what this game means to the Mets.” Was the call bad? Yes. But did Mendoza come out the dugout guns blazing? Also yes. The umpires don’t care how much the game means, if actions warrant ejection, they will eject. Would goofball Ron Darling prefer Alvarez be ejected instead? Classic instance of bias out of the Mets booth which is why non-diehard Mets fans can’t stand them.

3 of these are strikes. two are borderline calls. it is NOT where the ball is caught, it is where the ball CROSSES home plate!

Umps should not have any power. They are useless.

I think they have the graphic up there so that umps can make bad calls which we see, with objective evidence, are bad calls, but we are forced to accept that authorities make bad calls that we must comply with. I think “they” are using it as a psychological tactic to get us used to “them” forcing us to comply with lies. And accepting that “they” will lie right to our faces and we have to deal with the consequences of their lies. They do it in other sports too. Caitlin Clark is an example. Someone gouges her eyes, and we say, “that’s a foul! At least a regular foul!” We all saw it. And they say, “no, that’s not a foul.” And we say, “you’re lying”. And they say, “too bad, deal with it.” And we accept it. And then they transfer that into more important matters …

That’s because they aren’t watching the ball. They’re watching the glove. They need better training.

That ump is so biased. He called 3 balls on the line a ball four which led to a grand slam but when it’s outside for the Mets than it’s gotta be strike.

That's what you call a good catcher. The dude frames them so well. Im an Astros fan but i can respect his hustle.

He’s already moving his glove when the ball is coming in, so to the ump it looks like he’s just meeting the ball where it lands. Also, quick, minimal movement and he times it so you don’t hear the glove snap til it’s where he wants it. This is a skill.

I think Angel does this intentionally. Maybe he likes attention. Maybe he has somebody betting games for him. There has to be something. I wonder what the truth is. He knew he could not be fired. My guess is that he has a problem or a sickness that graves for attention.

He just lost me $20 on Gallen under strikeouts, 5 strike balls out of the strike zone called strikes. He needs fired

Get rid of the homeplate umpire. They are not needed anymore to call balls and Strikes

If MLB cared about their fans we would have automated strike zones by now. But MLB also sells us MLBTV, then blocks us from watching games by reselling some games to Apple TV, which is illegal in my eyes. If the Orioles weren't great, I'd never give MLB any of my money.

If I was umpire everytime catcher miles glove drastically to influence strike call I would call a ball. Obviously the catcher sees the pitch as ball so he moves his glove into strike zone. I would tell catcher if it was in strike zone you would not need to move glove after catching it.

Another video showing the need for robo umps calling balls and strikes. It won't eliminate the need for a home plate umpire. They will still need to say out loud what the computer tells them and they will still be needed for foul balls calls, check swing appeals, plays at home plate, etc.
