She’s not vegan, she’s vegetarian. Still subscribing to cruelty then. She needs to look into the dairy industry.

It will be correct for Teri to say I don’t know how we got here or why instead; because most people know. The allegory of the story of Adam & Eve tells us we ate a fruit so were thrown out of paradise to suffer whilst trying to return to the route from which we strayed. A refusal to consider this allegory carefully is not a reason to arrogate to yourself knowledge that nobody knows how we got here bcos we know why and how we got here.

Bitterness rots the bones. Great that Rhodri has risen above the difficulties. He must like what he sees when he looks in the man in the mirror staring back at him.

My husband and have been vegetarians for 30 years, my husband has now since January this year gone on a no dairy diet to help with a prostate problem, it has helped a bit but the down side is he's lost half a stone but as he is a slight build he's been told by a doctor he must put the weight back on.

It's great to hear, how a vegan lifestyle, has dramatically improved Coleen's health. It did for me too, after I went vegan for the animals, I reversed heart disease, type 2 diabetes, hypertension & lowered my BMI from 36 to 23. However, veganism is not a diet, it is the ethical stance against animal exploitation. Being vegan means not consuming any animal products, by consuming dairy, you are still contributing to a very cruel industry, where babies are literally stolen from their mothers. Also dairy is extremely bad for health & one of the main causes of heart disease & some cancers, like breast & prostate. I developed atherosclerosis, because of the amount of dairy I was consuming, especially cheese which I loved. Going vegan literally saved my life, it's the best thing I ever did, plus my conscience is clear, because I don't contribute to the suffering & abuse of others.

Veganism is not a diet. It's an ethical stance against the brutal exploitation of animals for food, clothing, entertainment or any other "reason." Colleen is Plant- based. She obviously doesn't care about the brutalization of non- human sentient beings. I am proud to be against cruelty and I will never apologize for trying to bring an end to the atrocious brutality human beings inflict on animals.

Alka, What an insight into addiction - the opposite to addiction is connection: to self, to others, to something bigger than ourselves. I shall take it forward into my work with people who have lived experience. Thank you 🙏🏻❤

Thank you Alka, informative as ever. I was on a retreat a few years ago where we practised silence during our meal times. Eating in silence really did heighten awareness and appreciation for how lucky we are to have delicious nutritional food, and slowing down, taking time to chew and savour each bite 👍
@alkapatel31432 жыл бұрын
Powerful isn't it. But tricky too. Because family mealtimes in particular are also often a time of chatting and catching up and connecting with each other. So pick one meal, just one in a day where it's just you and your food - and savour it all in silence! 😋
