Super STOKED! I just ordered my first Bison Custom Suit. I went with the Thor2, Samurai pattern, in the red, white, and black colors. Placed the order on 12 Dec, had my initial design review on 17 Dec, virtual measurement fitting 19 Dec, and now I just have to sit back, be patient and wait for delivery. Why I didn't do this sooner I have no idea. I have spent 2.5× the amount on too tight AStars. Two-piece Sedici suits that fit chest, legs, and butt but are always too long. Now I will have a custom fit Bison race suit, that based off this video is going to look good for seasons to come.

This was a very informative video! It opened up a new perspective to race suit design for me. Thanks for making it. My Bison race suit is still working / looking excellent! <Cheers, Joe>

So awesome! Thanks for the tutorial! I have a Dainese suit that I would like to change the Red-Fluoro panels to KTM orange. Any recommendations? Deglaze, sand, white base or just orange? What paint best approximates KTM orange? Thanks in advance!
@BisonTrackGear27 күн бұрын
Yes! Deglaze and light sanding will help it last longer! As for color, we don't have a direct recommendation so we would recommend going to hobby lobby and choosing whichever one you like best!

Unfortunately stretch panels are tricky! We would just recommend stretching it out and getting paint in all of the crevices.

I’m currently getting my second Pakistani leather suit made for street luge racing but you made a comment just now about why would that matter whether your suit came from Pakistan or made in America well simply put because some people would rather have their suit and made in America, knowing they’re keeping their money within the country, helping to support their economy It’s usually nothing personal which is why I have no problem working with some of these Pakistani guys that have been amazing but each to their own I completely understand warning American made products because mostly across-the-board I as well want the same thing
@BisonTrackGearАй бұрын
In a perfect world, we would make Bison suits and gloves in America with the same quality and craftsmanship we get from our overseas factory. Unfortunately leatherworking is all but dead as an American trade - especially when it comes to motorcycle racing gear. To each their own indeed... The American products that are out there are quality suits and jackets but they're heavy, cumbersome and look dated. That's not a knock on them, it just is what it is. The industry has not advanced in America for decades because the truth is, the market here is very small compared to other parts of the world where motorcycles are much more ingrained in the culture.

Amazing job Rob. The suit looks amazing. Could Bison also work on gears for off road electric unicycles(EUC) riders? We EUC riders have similar requirements as the eSkootr riders but we need more protection because we are higher from the ground. For example, the gloves need wrist guards in them so we do not break our wrists when we fall. Also, I'm deeply dissatisfied with all the helmets on the market because the field of view (FOV) in most of the helmets are totally crap. You can see forward but not down, left or right making them dangerous in the traffic if you do not have side mirrors (witch we do not). So it would be awesome if bison could do a helmet with better FOV. I would by it. Subscribed to this channel and expect many awesome protection products.
@BisonTrackGearАй бұрын
Thank you so much! EUC/OneWheel gear is something we have talked about as this eSC kit would indeed translate easily with some tweaks. I love the idea of a wrist guard in the glove. If you could shoot me an email at [email protected] I would love to chat more about the ideal type of gear for EUC. Now about helmets... Unfortunately helmets are the only piece of gear we have no plans to make in-house. We do, however, have a close relationship with KYT helmet! I will pass this feedback on to them and see if they are in a position to look at developing something for that segment.

If you want quality, by US made leather, the place where the product ships from is just meaningless.
@BisonTrackGear2 ай бұрын
If you want US-made leathers, you're limiting yourself in many ways. With all due respect to the last couple of companies assembling leathers here in the states, the skill of leatherworking in the US has all but dried up and the technology is stuck in the past. You'll have a great suit in terms of workmanship and thickness of the leather itself however these suits and jackets are heavy and lack newer methods of construction and the more advanced materials allowing for light weight and mobility. You'll also pay much more for that gear. Keep in mind, in the infancy of starting this company we did intend to utilize USA production but we found quickly that the cost of labor combined with the lack of specific skills needed to make jackets and suits for motorcycle riding ruled this out very quickly. If you want a US-made product I can't fault you a bit and I love that but to be frank, it's more an act of patriotism than it is getting a better product.

I have never seen one good quality leather jacket made in Pakistan or in Afghanistan, they are specialized in exporting low quality leather, lining and hardware, they look ok in their websites but all these companies such as fjackets, angel jackets, the jacket maker are not worth the cost of shipping you pay. Stay away from these garbage quality products, save some money and buy a decent quality product, you will pay 500+ but you won't regret purchasing a decent quality product rather than these low quality jackets.
@BisonTrackGear2 ай бұрын
We think the statement of quality being better outside of Pakistan is subjective. It's all about finding a good factory. There are good and bad in both countries, and we have found an amazing factory in Pakistan! We know our quality is amazing and we would love you to try for yourself as well!

Great video. I've got a question. Some websites say to take measurements' while standing? I am confused between standing and riding posture measurement's. Wouldnt it be very restrictive in riding position if we take measurement's while standing and similarly on the opposite side?
@BisonTrackGear5 ай бұрын
The only measurements we take in a riding position are #7 and 8 - upper and lower thigh. The reason for this is simply to put some weight on the legs and get the thighs flexed. Taking these two measurements in this position ensures the suit will be comfortable when you're on the bike and putting weight on the pegs. Note that measurements #10, 16 and 18 (calves, bicep and forearm) are also taken with the muscles flexed.

It should allow you room to bend and crouch, but it shouldn't be loose enough to move the hardshell protection on the suit. The protection should move in the event of a crash.
