Speaking as a Pakistani I didn't actually know that the industry had a bad rap, definitely something all future governments in the country need to get a handle on and your video was SUPER informative and something I'm going to share with family/friends in hopes of having corrected. I am not sure if Pakistan's ministry of commerce understands this issue and takes the time to invite brands to speak with them about issues/concerns they have had to address problems on an industry level. I've bought suits from Pakistan and LOVE them, amazing quality stuff. Travelling back in a few days and wanted to have a custom suede jacket made for me and a few more things while I'm there.

I’m currently getting my second Pakistani leather suit made for street luge racing but you made a comment just now about why would that matter whether your suit came from Pakistan or made in America well simply put because some people would rather have their suit and made in America, knowing they’re keeping their money within the country, helping to support their economy It’s usually nothing personal which is why I have no problem working with some of these Pakistani guys that have been amazing but each to their own I completely understand warning American made products because mostly across-the-board I as well want the same thing
@BisonTrackGearАй бұрын
In a perfect world, we would make Bison suits and gloves in America with the same quality and craftsmanship we get from our overseas factory. Unfortunately leatherworking is all but dead as an American trade - especially when it comes to motorcycle racing gear. To each their own indeed... The American products that are out there are quality suits and jackets but they're heavy, cumbersome and look dated. That's not a knock on them, it just is what it is. The industry has not advanced in America for decades because the truth is, the market here is very small compared to other parts of the world where motorcycles are much more ingrained in the culture.

As a new entrant into this industry as a manu your insights hit me with mixed feelings-demotivated yet oddly motivated. You shed light on client issues and hinted at doing better. I've been in those one-lightbulb factories, seen their struggles, trying to be a quality provider. Your research is spot on; they're skilled, but I believe every big business had a humble start. It's about passion and dedication. Your explanation was on point, and it taught me a valuable lesson. Looking forward to more advice from you in your vids.

If you want good leather products by vanson or schott, made in America, vanson has great jackets and racing suits,
@BisonTrackGear Жыл бұрын
Absolutely. These are both great options but frankly speaking, they have failed to evolve to changing technology and today's construction methods. They're also quite expensive and the feedback we're hearing from our customers is that they're taking longer and longer to make race suits as fashion jackets become their primary source of income. We do business with US suppliers whenever possible and we have explored US-based production since day 1 - in fact, we continue to do so! But the fact of the matter is the same quality suit made here in the USA would cost MUCH more. These days, it's a global economy and you must adapt to survive. It's very difficult to overcome the quality/value provided by Middle Eastern and Asian suppliers. Perhaps in the future we will be able to offer a "made in USA" option!

I've got two Pakistani made jackets. The leather quality is so poor. My leather sofa is better. The stitching is coming apart and the safety features broken and snapped. The zips have stuck and are meant to be YKKs. As for the fit, well, having supplied my size the back is six inches too long and the sleeves are two inches too short and I can barely get my arm in it. As for getting a refund, the company no longer exists so I've lost US$950. I'd rather buy Italian.

Unfortunately we hear these stories a lot. This is why it's important to buy from a company who not only vets their supplier and builds to a high spec, but one that protects you with guarantees and warranties.

even products from china.......its the spec, quality control, and over sight that matters......machines dont care where or what country they are parked at.....a good craftsman can be found anywhere on the planet........what seperates a good product from a bad one isnt the country where its made.......leather race suits, cars, phones can care less where they are made......the company that specs out the labor, materials, and quality is what makes a difference but yeah you will pay more for it......

If you want quality, by US made leather, the place where the product ships from is just meaningless.
@BisonTrackGear2 ай бұрын
If you want US-made leathers, you're limiting yourself in many ways. With all due respect to the last couple of companies assembling leathers here in the states, the skill of leatherworking in the US has all but dried up and the technology is stuck in the past. You'll have a great suit in terms of workmanship and thickness of the leather itself however these suits and jackets are heavy and lack newer methods of construction and the more advanced materials allowing for light weight and mobility. You'll also pay much more for that gear. Keep in mind, in the infancy of starting this company we did intend to utilize USA production but we found quickly that the cost of labor combined with the lack of specific skills needed to make jackets and suits for motorcycle riding ruled this out very quickly. If you want a US-made product I can't fault you a bit and I love that but to be frank, it's more an act of patriotism than it is getting a better product.

I have never seen one good quality leather jacket made in Pakistan or in Afghanistan, they are specialized in exporting low quality leather, lining and hardware, they look ok in their websites but all these companies such as fjackets, angel jackets, the jacket maker are not worth the cost of shipping you pay. Stay away from these garbage quality products, save some money and buy a decent quality product, you will pay 500+ but you won't regret purchasing a decent quality product rather than these low quality jackets.

We think the statement of quality being better outside of Pakistan is subjective. It's all about finding a good factory. There are good and bad in both countries, and we have found an amazing factory in Pakistan! We know our quality is amazing and we would love you to try for yourself as well!
