This is the realest reaction I've seen to "Hi Ren". Thank you for sharing your vulnerable side with us and hopefully helping more people understand the impact of this song.

Do a marathon of Sick Boi, Ren’s video about the drama, to finish with Kujo Beatdown!!
He’s spiritual more than anything, open minded to all things. A thinker❤

As a 52 year old lover of music and a history/English teacher (who grew up on classic rock and alternative 80s rock) in Washington state, USA, this style of music was never something I got into- until Ren. He has so much depth, and his lyrics are clever and full of so many real- life references that are truly relatable to a multigenerational audience. For that, like you, I have become a supporter and fan. This music has led me to other music that I might not have ever explored. Plus, much of his music is also beautiful and poignant. Thank you for your REAL reaction, and fuck those that speak hate instead of using "common sense" by going to a different channel that they like. Be well!

Mate, your thoughts and feelings in this reaction resonate as does Ren. I live that dark life and am also a failure at suicide myself. I have taken to writing poetry as my therapy and just wish I knew the way to share it so it could maybe help just one person. Keep doing what you’re doing, stay strong.

Marcelito should have won that competition. But Simon shot him down. It was like they already had the person who was going to win. Then Marcelito showed up and shocked everyone.

it's not a religious piece he just, as a student, learned that hope and faith are one in the same thats why he related them. the dark side of him is everything evil, the devil sure but also basically every horrible disorder that tells you that you aren't good anxiety, depression, bpd, bdd, etc the stuff that convinces people to just give up and die, versus the good side of you faith, hope, self-confidence, joy, etc whatever built you up in the first place.

Eyup mate. I've not experienced what You, Ren and many others have struggled/struggling through, but have friends and family that have/had mental health. Also from you saying "bloody" a few times, you're also from Yorkshire. Hope you do well and I'll be subscribing your channel and see what else you react to.

James was in the British armed forces in the tank regiment, his father was his commanding officer in the Kosovo conflict, his dad had been a kidney donation some years ago then he got kidney disease and this song was recorded when his father was in stage 4 kidney failure which was terminal but a distant cousin came forward and was a match so his father survived, utterly when he wrote this song he didn't know that

Enjoyed your reaction, and yes, Live and Real Life for him... live one shot... took 4 takes to get what they created that you watched. You probably felt that anything else would be a comedown from this... but pretty much everything he does is astoundingly good and he plays with the music however he wants, plays the instruments to do whatever he wants. He's been dubbed Bardcore... but he's done rap, singing, etc... his last album charted at #1 in the UK beating out the Rolling Stones and others and he isn't signed by anyone... was signed to Sony before he got to ill to fulfill his contract. Amazingly, Sony let him keep the rights to all his music he had produced. His videographer is his friend Sam... their collaberations are amazing. You've probably already done some other reactions by now... but "Genesis", "Take of Jenny and Screech (and Violet's Tale", and "Money Game trilogy" is amazing.

Country? Now we're talking. My top ones are two songs about homesickness Hickory Wind by Gram Parsons (the Gillian Welch cover nails it) & Dixie Storms by Lone Justice, both beautiful songs. And for storytelling, check out Ellis Unit One by Steve Earle, written from the perspective of a prison officer on death row. Hank Williams, Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark...I could go on.

I'm a year late. So what? Love the reaction man. I'll fly admit that I judge people based on the reaction to the noose on the rope line. Anyone who doesn't react has had a soft life or is really young. Having said that, the part where you referred to your failed attempt as even failing at that. All too familiar to me, that inside voice. I was diagnosed at 42 with ADHD. My whole life I've called myself a failure, lazy, and worse. I've been lucky to find a good therapist who's helped me undo a lifetime of shit self inflicted or otherwise. One thing that has been massive for me though, is self compassion. My therapist asked me one day: "would you ever say these things to a friend in the same position? Then why would you say it to yourself?" If that rings true to you at all, check the link at the end. No affiliation, I'm Canadian and it's an Australian government site. Some of the steps might seem fucking kitschy, but it has helped me. I know I'm just some cunt on KZbin, so feel free to tell me to take off. www.cci.health.wa.gov.au/Resources/Looking-After-Yourself/Self-Compassion

We live we die .sad but true we must hold each other close to stop suicide. Ren... has lived as most of us through the grief..and touches us all with words. Words are easy it's how you react to the words.determination and will of attitude of one's attitude. And the support they have behind them. To understand and fight against the things. Government community peer pressure and day to day life in general work . Society. Your health end treatment

Just a suggestion but please don't call any religious belief bull shit I may not be Christian but I understand completely that everyone must believe in something even atheism can be considered bullshit by all religions but you don't hear people calling atheism bullshit because we all accept the fact that atheism is just a lack of belief not a belief in no religion but a religion of no belief so please even if you don't believe don't disrespect the religions you do not know about or practice because that is unfair to all religions and makes atheism look worse than it actually is ❤️❤️

Never watched anything before reacted by you, the part (about 15 minutes) when you said that You avoid preachy stuff and such made me sub to check you out more in the feed, since I knew you were gonna be smashed the next few minutes since he made everyone included by using the metaphores and names for all the religious stuff but not actualy being religion just what it is. ^_^

Just found your reaction, moving and powerful stuff. Its obvious that you get it, and it got you! We cant control much of what happens to us, but we can control how we deal with it. You can either get bitter or get better. REN is a perfect example of getting better

6:43 - I just wanted to say that I hear you. I'm American, so I have no knowledge of the UK's handling of mental health. But here, we're doing a shit job, too. This is one reaction (I've seen way too many) that really captivated me and felt just as real as the soul who made this music. Ren is amazing, and so are you. We all are 😊 Thanks for the video!
@bridgetburton8878Ай бұрын
Also 7:21, this part always gets me. Because to me, the way Ren presents it feels like my first suicidal thought. Realizing (or believing) that the only way to defeat the negative side of myself is to delete my self (don't wanna say the real thing.) But this song is truly so heavy and powerful. Mad respect

14:06 sorry Im so late to the party, but I ALSO feel this. I strongly dislike over religious, shove it in your face people. Everyone has the freedom to believe what they want like you said, something like that. I believe good an evil are true energies that exist amongst us. Not necessarily a man in the sky/heaven or a man in hell controling everything. Still loving this video. Just crazy to actually see someone on youtube with a lot of the same opinions.
