Good on them for being open to feedback. Alert signal across such a large system is more obvious of a warning to me. It gets really murky when communities try to use multiple signals for different things.

Was wondering if by chance you knew what the Whelens are used for that are located at most city of Houston fire stations? On the news they said the city doesn't have sirens for weather and refer everyone mobile alerts but I've noticed Whelens at most fire stations in the city limits and can't seem to find anywhere that states the purpose of them.

The Whelens at the fire stations and Thunderbolts scattered throughout the city are remnants of a siren system Houston formerly operated but haven’t been in use for 30 years

Just so you're aware, the model is actually of a 20-AR-10. Edaan got the name wrong since information about B&M's sirens was scarce when he made them.
