Yes. I am a monogamous stitcher. I have one project that I work on. That's how we did it in the 80's when I first started stitching. I'm seriously amazed by some of these gals and how many projects they have going and how many they have kitted up and how many patterns they have. It gives me anxiety to be honest with you. I like working on one project until it's done. I do have a crochet project that I'm working during the day and then in the evenings I do my cross stitch. I keep my floss in little bags. I don't really care for the floss drop system. But that's just me
@annettesneedles10 күн бұрын
I, too, am amazed by all the projects some of the gals have going. I tried to follow their pattern and I think that's what overwhelmed me. When I was traveling to my daughter's I only worked on one and realized that it was much more relaxing for me that way. I love to do so many things, knitting, crochet, quilting, sewing, ...too many things, but being monogamous with one project on each type I have started is fun! Keeps my busy brain happy and my hands just busy enough 😁. Thank you for commenting 🪡😊

Question: does anyone know if the erasable gel pens would wash out? If so, that might keep the lines from reappearing when exposed to cold temps. The mini bouquet flower pattern is available at different stores (like 123stitch) for around $35 USD. I missed the free download. Vivian Ann
@annettesneedlesАй бұрын
I haven't ever experienced the lines returning. I've used it on quilts that I have washed and dried but I can't say if the ink itself washed out. I know my lines didn't return, though. ' I am so glad I went and downloaded the designs each month that they were released free! But, having said that, they are so pretty and easy to stitch, the cost is probably worth it. Thank you for commenting.

On the dimensions kits I saw another floss tuber punch a hole above each colour and then use them like floss drops. That way they aren’t so long either. I tried it and really like it. I’m mostly monogamous, may switch between a couple but that’s it.

No, I do not change my floss over to floss drops when they come in the dimensions kits already basically on floss drops. I see it as a waste of time, but everybody’s different. I’m a fairly new stitcher about one year in I still keep my floss in little plastic bags and remove it from the skein. Yes, I am pretty much a monogamous stitcher unless I get completely bored with what I’m doing that I might start a new one and do some of it and that is just enough to make me want to go back and complete the other one. I’ve only had two going at the same time so I do consider myself a monogamous stitcher..

If your looking for a wonderful lap stand I can’t recommend the Elan lap stand enough. Reasonably priced, quality made, and a work horse. I’ve had mine 3-4 years and absolutely love it. There is a flosstuber who has the best review I’ve seen. I can look for a link for her if you’re interested. Happy stitching!

You can make these frames much cheaper using pvc pipe and qsnap clamps. And you can make them any size you want. I have made adjustments to mine so I don’t have to use a pillow

The needle size will depend on your fabric. The size I usually use is 24, or 26. Since I usually stitch on 14 or 16 count Aida cloth, those needle sizes are good. I hope that helped. 🪡🧵😊

I put all my threads on bobbins. I mark the bobbin with the symbol. If there are blended colors I put some of the threads already blended on a bobbin and write the symbol and what the blend is. This makes it easier to keep stitching.

Do use bees wax for your thread to go into needle?
@annettesneedles9 ай бұрын
No. I run the entire length of my thread through it. It takes out the winkles and helps it not get into a knot. If it does make a knot while I'm stitching, then it's easier to unknot 😉. I've had it for years and it seems to never run out! 🧵🪡🙂

Nice tutorial! Fortunately I can still rotary cut and prefer that, but it's always good to have options. A gentle tip (try or not), The seam allowance to go under the needle first, whether showing on top, or hidden underneath (what I call the Queen's Invisible Seam, reminiscent of the Emperor's new clothes) will not buck back if you put a pin in the middle of the seam allowance that leads the way. Just a thought. I sharpened up my piecing this way but I am a dyed in the cotton pinner.
@annettesneedles9 ай бұрын
Thank you for that tip! And I appreciate the comment. On some things I have to cut ' by hand' but it's kind of fun thinking of things to do on the machine. It's so nice to have feedback. It's been years since I taught Patchwork and talking to a computer just isn't the same! 😜😉😀🪡🧵

Very interesting frame. I’m going to see if it comes in different sizes. I too have difficulty with an unmounted scroll frame. Odd that I should because back in the day that was the frame of choice. I too have just returned to cross stitch after many years of a hiatus. It is a whole new world. I’ll look forward to see what responses you get about the scroll frame. Thank you for the review.
