What an absolutely brilliantly made docu.. As a writer this place I'm sure would inspire me, being around other such people.. Ive spent the majority of the second half of my life completely opposite to this being totally alone year on year, the only peopke I see are at the shop.. I have no friends (they all have died) and my surviving relatives over 150 miles away.. So a completely solitary lifestyle that is really not condusive to writing. Tho I guess ud imagine it to be the exact environment... But I guess motivation doesn't really come from flying solo.

I guess it's no big secret now as everyone knows but many free raves and before acid House party's were put on and paid for by ecstacy tabs.. Host a party, sell ur e's on site... Back then u could get 15-20quid for a decent pill that would have cost u around 3quid (in bulk) that's how the money was made... Not by donations and a free meal here and there and diesel for gennys. Guess nobody so naive as to not know this all these years later.. But then e was e and what u paid for was a decent genuine lift for ur all night dancing...

26.28 I'm 99% sure that The car being helped along by the guys on the bonnet was my good friend (and shortly after traveller) Shane harding.. Sat in passenger seat was his brother, also a prolific traveller known by many Roy harding..( lol if u knew him u know why... Friend to all was Roy and knew everyone even when he didn't.. Ur story was his story... His head was mush and he incorporated anyone he Met into his long history of memories which got him into much trouble and offended many unintentionally lol) and myself in the rear...if that is that this video footage was 91 or 92??? Anyone know?? The car matches along with the memory.

When I first arrived at Rutland free or wish u were here in July. Of 91 I had beaded hair... Taking acid had always given me the impression that normal people and their haircuts made them look very plastic and unreal against the landscape.. When I saw masses of dreaded travellers for the first time in a decade of lsd I saw people who fit with the environment and didn't look like plastic clones.. I immediately began my hair to dreads once back at the bedsit... For. The next year and half I followed the festies with my 3 good traveller friends. A happy time that seems far away now.. A life I wanted to live but arrived at the tail end when the laws were brought about to stop it all and thus it was back to the bedsit for me..........

Bloody brilliant, that’s coming from a soft southerner.. we don’t have anything like that sadly.. we do have in my corner of the world, the Lewes bonfire night and that is usually ignorant of the law and pretty wild, sadly it’s becoming more and more commercial. I really hate seeing these traditions pissed on by the powers that be.. bastards. Folk is always the way.

I want to get back up to Orkney maybe in winter, will be in tent so would appreciate local knowledge for free camping. 7foot mate now that's tall. My big mate was 6' 8" and he was handy to get behind when things got wild at gigs n in pubs, lol.

@karmakazi101 thanks.it is a tent and would be for a short period. I don't drink nearly 15yr sober. I used to live in a bender but not for sometime.i live on the Isle of skye so appreciate about getting away and out the way. I'll keep in touch. Next summer solstice a few of us are heading to Callanish. Me and my ex partner are considering doing a wee commitment as mates ceremony 30yr on from when we done a hand fasting there.we even have the mate who done the original handfasting coming.youd be more than welcome to join us.

Just happened across this and love it... I’ve lived in caravans with add ons since I was sixteen, I’m 46 now and I still don’t own much. Living close to nature seems to me to be the only sensible option. I love the creativity combined with the necessity to survive the seasonal changes. I wouldn’t have it any other way, all power to you.

@@andyskye01 thanks so much, I’ve just watched it and thought I’ve seen bits of the earlier part before, in different videos. It resonates strongly for me, living the way I do. Hearing the strong prejudice from “settled people “ my own family when I was a kid tried to tell me that people with dreadlocks were bad, and anyone born into title or lordship had better quality blood in their veins... as a kid I couldn’t understand that and hated it. Why’s the queen so special? Because she has superior blood...? Something happened then to me. I had a distance between me and my family. They’re all dead now, my daughter is nearly three and lives in a horsedrawn wagon with my ex. She and I are dear friends but are better off separate. We moved to Lapland six years ago and lived with the reindeer herders. It wasn’t for her so we left and returned home.. I miss northern Scandinavia a lot. Sorry for the life story! I always get carried away. I saw you at the Point I think, you were quiet and your partner was talking about how we are all animals, the dream of going horse or donkey drawn into the hills!? I totally agree about that even at 46, I don’t know how to fit in really... I don’t want to. I’m delighted to hear that your children made good! I make catapults now and use e-commerce to sell... it’s a weird life really. Have a look if you like, I’m Wildroots Wood on Instagram and Facebook... ugh, all so strange really. How do you live now? It’s been a pleasure to watch your content and it would be a pleasure to meet you one day. Will.

@@williamdeltufo7163 I love the way you have lived your life,at least you followed your heart and what I'd imagine a spiritual path.a true way I believe.i was quiet at the point as I believed I'd had a fair say in glen sheil and it was britts turn to speak.we never did realise the dream to go less material with horse or donkeys(the donkeys were what I've always wanted as I love them).me and britt are still great mates and live in same village on isle of skye.we will meet at some point, some things are mea t to be my friend.

It's called THE COMEBACK on Force Inc (German label) Release 011. I did all the music for the rave section of this film. That's my name James G J Peters in the end credits under techno music. None of what you hear on the fiulm in the rave footage is what was actually recorded at the event, which was naff commercial kak. I studied the footage, chose what i felt were better tracks and synced them in with the BPM movements of the people dancing. That THE COMEBACK track was cool, because as the sample on it says ''welcome to the sky'' the films camera pans to a pig chopper flying overhead, and then the film moves on to a new theme. Forward the Revolution, ya'll. Peace out! Jim
