This song makes me think of Moscow in late June. The long lonely, gray, cold winter is gone and the city spreads its wings. Moscow is just a giant green spot from a bird eye view. It's hot, cars, cars, cars everywhere. Smells like gasoline. Garden ring is very loud. But then I make a turn and find myself on a quiet, hidden street. Asphalt is covered with poplar fluff. Makes me think of the snow. But for now, I'm walking around my beloved city. And it's summertime. Riding the bus, lookin out the window, thinking about peace.

The first time I heard this song it was in the movie "Imitation of Life". Ms. Jackson sang this at the funeral of one of the main characters; my favorite character. Ripped my heart right out of my chest it was so beautiful. To this day when I think about that movie, she is first in my thoughts.
